What People Are Saying...
I stumbled across Renegade Professional about 16 months ago. I was enthused to have found it. I started to diligently study with Steve Anderson, Scott Rogers and Ann Seig. Then I got distracted by all the other glittered training that was being offered out there, which wound up leading me NOT where I wanted to go.
Then one day I picked up one of my notebooks I had been keeping all my information in from Renegade Professional.
I begin reading through it only to discover it was what I had been looking for all the time.
So I signed up again and began a disciplined study with one of your great trainer/coaches Mike Klingler. With him, I am learning the art of internet attraction and the use of web 2.0, and how to write content for my Squidoo Lenses and blogs.
To go from not knowing about the value of internet marketing to where I can finally see the light of success, having being stuck in the old school way of network marketing, is due to the great training offered at Renegade Professional.

For the past year, she has worked closely with Barbara Silva and is one of the core members of the Coaching Cognition Team. Lee Ann is the co-author of Learn to Build and Maintain Relationships, A Heart-felt Tool for Life.

Welcome to the team, Kendall! We are all very excited to have another family on the team. It aligns truly with Marketing Merge’s values and vision. I am so much looking forward to meeting you on the phone and in person in the nearest future.
It is so nice that Barbara has her closest to her person (her daughter) sharing her passion and helping her execute it.
Barbara is the nicest and brightest person ever and the cherry seems to have fallen really close to the tree.
I love the positive and bright energy that comes out of you both. The Coaching Cognition coaches and students are for an amazing treat. You are going to rock our world!

How cool to discover just by the process of connecting with people in social media and validating them as a social young adult, Kendall developed a community of friends. She discovered the reality and power of social marketing at it’s finest.
Then connecting the dots between what her experience in social media and her passions/talent with councelling and coaching, along with the privilege of working from home with her Mom; Kendall’s new job is a dream come true. A dream many families would love to live out.

This is really terrific. I can recall having a phone conversation with Barbara about how successful her daughter was with using social networking without even realizing it.
This is such a good example of Attraction Marketing at work.
Now Barbara has the added bonus of having this talented young person who just happens to be her daughter, join her in the Coaching Cognition business.
Congratulations to you both and to Coaching Cognition for having such a dynamic team on board.

Hi, Kendall. It was fun to read this article about you and “meet” you via video. It’s a dream of mine to work with my daughter–so I’ve made sure she sees this article and video, too.
I look forward to working alongside you at Coaching Cognition. With Barbara as our mentor and guide, we’ll be a very strong team!

Hi Kendall:
Welcome to the team and Renegade family – looks like the tag ‘renegade’ is right at home with the Silva family. Thanks for sharing you mom with the world – she is amazing!
Are you going to write a theme song for Renegades or CC?

Welcome Kendall!
As you already know, your mom is the greatest and its wonderful that you get to work together. We’re excited to have you on the team and to learn and share together.

Thanks Didi! I am truly excited and honored to be a part of this great program. I can hardly wait to meet you as well!
It is exciting to know that there are so many great people out there who have the same giving attitude that I have when it comes to business practices, and I’m learning how well it can actually work!
The live event in January is going to be so much fun! Getting to meet all of you at one time will be fantastic. I hope you’re ready for all the craziness you’ll experience when me and my mom get together, lol!!

Hello, Kendall.
Your interview with your mother was very inspiring.
You and your mother share a very unique bond. I hear the same passion in you that your mother has; thus, you will make the coaching team just that much stronger and more valuable.
Hope to see you inside coaching cognition!

Kendall & Barbara are having a wonderful time working from home…
Families doing business together – the concept and practice is an old one, but doesn’t it make more and more sense in this new millennium of entrepreneurship (especially on the internet)? It sure does.
I know what a HUGE endeavor the Coaching Cognition program has been from day one, and how many talented people have been needed to make this happen.
What is remarkable to me is that Barbara didn’t have to look any further than the dinner table. I am learning, and you will notice for yourself when you watch the video by following the link at the top of the article, that Kendall Silva is a rare gem cut from the same fire as her mother.
It has always been a pleasure to work with Barbara – I’ve always called her my “pseudo mom” because of the closeness we’ve shared, and her ability to always be there for me when I needed a sound board or strategic coaching to get me over a hump. Sometimes it was just her wisdom. She is family. And I now look forward to building relationship with Kendall. I know what a talent she is.

What a wonderful article about Mother and Daughter!! It’s fun when you can work together like that. And, Kendall has obviously learned from her Mom’s example over the years – from what she did on MySpace with her music. Congratulations to Kendall on joining the coaching team and your new job position also!
Comment by Julieanne van Zyl — October 18, 2009 @ 2:07 pm
This article is a great example for anyone that is thinking about a home based business becoming a family business.
It is fantastic to read about someone, like Kendall, who is educated and talented finding an entrepreneurial niche so early in life rather than just automatically buckling in for ‘job’. She’s worked her unique selling proposition into her work and even her unique approach into MySpace interactions.
There are so many horror stories and warnings – ‘don’t do business with family’ – that it’s refreshing to see very positive experiences.
My daughters have worked with me at times, and we’ve enjoyed it – I know I’ve enjoyed it!
However, I don’t think I’ve ever gotten the Highest Compliment – “It doesn’t feel like work at all”
That has to be the best thing in the world – what an inspiration!

The working relationship which has developed between Barbara and Kendall is as powerful a statement about the effectiveness of developing a coaching skill set as you can make.
Barbara has developed these skills as well as anyone I know, and I suspect she has been doing so for a LONG time (not calling her old, or anything…haha). The results are evident in her daughter’s ability and desire to follow along a similar path.
Mike Klingler recently wrote an article about how coaching can improve your personal life as well as your business life, and I think this exemplifies perfectly what he was trying to say.

Sorry, but I beat Kendall out on the Company song. I already sang it for the gang in Portland. LOL Did I mention both Kendall and I have a theatre background? Big surprise. lol

I would think that there is no more satisfying development in a person’s life than to work their children. For years, I worked along side my father and learned a lot about traditional business.
I envy Barbara’s position as I too have a wish to someday work closely with my daughter.
Keeping one’s options open to all possibilities may just make it happen.

How wonderful is it to have your son or daughter work along side you in your work, your goals, and what you’re passionate about? It’s probably what every parent hopes for.
Barbara, you’ve done a super job raising her and it’s coming back to you, along with everything else you are putting your personal touch on. Kudos to Kendall for her choice of employer!

A Mothers Dream
Having your child decide to work with/for you must be one of the highest compliments. Very cool! Then to work together toward a common goal, something you love, that is the ultimate goal for anyone looking to work at home. Wouldn’t it be great if all families could come together like this?

This is a very special article.
It shows how businesses are able to grow and become nurtured with the help of family. Kendall is so very fortunate to have such an endearing mom and Barbara such an enlightening and embracing daughter.
I am sure that any project that the two of you embrace together will be very powerful.
If all could embrace mutual respect and love.
Ladies thank you for sharing the interview.

Awesome! No generation gap here.
This is a very special article and video and I can’t wait to be introduced to Barbara and Kendall as the dynamic duo in Cognition Coaching.
It must be the most wonderful and satisfying feeling to be working alongside your Mum and your daughter – what synergy!
What an exciting journey we are all going to have learning from you both.
When are we going to hear the rendering of the Renegade Number 1 Hit? Oh boy this is such fun.

Watching Barbara and Kendall is wonderful. It is so great when we can pass on the value and joy of working from home to our kids. What better way to be able to continue to mentor them and take part in their development?
and yes. what a supreme compliment to the mom or dad whose child steps up–to be their own person in conjunction with their parent.

As many of you know, not only do I work online from home, I’m a single mom and I homeschool my daughter as well. It’s my dream that she’ll never need or want a JOB.
Of course I’d love for her to learn to do what I do so part of our “curriculum” is internet studies. My DD has her own blog where she posts her school work and she’s created several lenses over at Squidoo.
Seeing how Barbara and Kendall work so well together is inspiring to say the least and gives me great hope for my daughter and me.

What a heart warming story. Congratulations Barbara – my daughter is just 13 but is already shaping up into a wonderful marketing assistant. It must be really exciting for you that your daughter is choosing to work with you. The highest mother daughter compliment I think.

Working with my daughter in the future. Right now she just can’t see it – then again she is only 13. She thinks she cant work on computers or make websites – it will be exciting to watch her advance in technology. Many teens are smarter than adults in this area. If that does not happen it gives me warm fuzzys to know that Barbara and Kendall are working and thriving together.

Hi Barbara and Kendall, this is an awsome example how communication skills make family life much more fun and work. Thank you so much for that wonderful interview/chat. Me having 3 adult daughters with a wonderful relationship also between them – what a giftfor me as mom!! And the wonderful thing is that age doesn´t count if you are really present with people in a space of acknowledgement. One of my daughters was coach 3 times in a program where people created and fulfilled projects. She, 18 years old, was coaching 40-50 year old participants that would not believe it at the beginning and then being blown away by her contribution. It really feels like being at home with you wathing you. Thanks again!!! And I loved whatever I got to see from Barbara – now two times Silva! What a treat! Gertraud

@Didi: I was doing cold calling, chasing prospects all over the place and I did not feel confident in the way I communicated what I wanted to communicate, thus my results were very poor.
So true Didi. There are very many people who have actually made a fortune even using the old traditional method, the difference is communication! Even as we master attracting prospects, if we are to be successful, we need to master communication skills and be able to listen to our clients. I have seen this skill change my business tremendously.
Blessings

Hi Barbara & Kendall,
Thank you for such an inspiring and interesting video. It was awesome listening to you both and how everything evolved.
It actually reminded me that my niece is doing training to be a counsellor, and had made a comment that we could go into business together.
At the time I couldn’t see how. However my desire and intent is to be part of coaching conginition course and now I see another doorway opening and path working with my niece, and I have already seen other opportunities where I can help.
Thank you to you both I am truly grateful.
