LOGO - Coaching CognitionWhen you attend a live event of any kind, are you cheating yourself out of the huge strides in your life and business that you could have gained from the event itself?

While most live events offer the built in value of information that is shared through presentations, question and answer sessions, and activities, there is so much more you can gain from the experience if you have the mindset to go out there and get it!

So how do you get the most out of attending a live event?  These events are naturally a gathering of like-minded individuals from all over the city, state, country, or even the world!  It is that very gathering of people that will allow you to reach new heights in your life and business.

Some of you may be thinking that there is something unique that will stop you from achieving this potential during a one or two day event.  You may think that because you are ‘new’ or because you have never attended a live event before that you will somehow not be able to get any more than the base value of the event.  This is not true!  Everyone can use this information to plan how YOU will get more out of your experience.

This article is intended to coach you through the task of setting a goal for the event, creating an action plan to achieve your goal, and then putting into motion.

Of course, because this is an article, it is important to note that this is not a true coaching session.  For true coaching, there must be an atmosphere of interaction and follow up questions.  Therefore, if you have a coach, I recommend planning as much as you can through this article, then talking about any unique situations with your coach.

Define Your Vision:

In defining your vision for the event, think about what your long-term goals are.  Write them down.  Perhaps you are starting a new business and you want to turn it into a full time career that will support your family.  Maybe you have a particular income level in mind.  Or a lifestyle.  Or a passion.

Now relate the topic of the live event to your long-term goals. When you think about what this event might be like, even if you have no actual expectations yet, how does it look?  Who is there?  Who are you spending your time with?  What are you talking about?

Take a few minutes to truly imagine your ideal experience, then write down the key points that make it ideal.  This is your vision.

Set a Realistic Goal:

Think about your long-term goal and your vision for the event itself in order to set an achievable and realistic goal.  Remember, most events are one or two days, so setting a goal to turn your business into a multi-million dollar endeavor is a little large for such a short time period.

What is something you can conceivably accomplish in that amount of time?  Do you want to find a coach?  Do you want to get closer to finding a good business partner?  Do you want to interview someone?  Do you want to make a video testimonial?  Do you want to meet people who are successful in your current or future profession who you can connect with and learn from?

What is a short-term goal that you can set for the live event that will bring you closer to your long-term goals?

Create an Action Plan:

What are the actions that you will need to take in order to achieve your goals?

If there is someone in particular you want to talk to, plan out a list of the most important questions you want to ask them, in order of importance.  Plan to arrive early so that you can sit near that person, allowing you to have easier access to them.

Do you want to interview another attendee?  Go ahead and write out your interview questions.  Get in touch with that person and find out if they would be willing to schedule the interview at a certain time.

If you want to start a joint venture, you can create a list of qualities you might be looking for in the other person.  What are your basic goals for the venture, what can you bring to the table, and how much time can you commit?

Now, decide which action steps you can begin today.  Can you send an email to the person you want to interview?  Do the speakers have any information posted yet about a question and answer session?  What preparatory work can you begin, such as list making, question writing, etc?

Prepare for Obstacles:

Be aware that these events are usually no more than one to three days long.  Who knows what can happen?  One of your goals may simply not turn out to be feasible due to the number of people present who may have similar goals, such as interviewing the speakers.  Perhaps the speakers are simply not available for interview.

There may be factors that are essential to achieving your goals but are out of your control.  This is okay.  So have a backup plan.  Create a list of “If this, then this” statements.  For instance, “If I cannot get an interview, then I will try to ask one question… If I do not meet anyone that fits my needs for a joint venture, then I will write down what I have learned from the experience of seeking out a partner”, etc.

Remember, when things do not go ‘according to plan’, it is simply an opportunity to take new action.  So do not be concerned if a goal isn’t achieved in exactly the way you had expected.  Just learn from the experience, and realize that by learning, you have achieved far more than you would have by not taking those actions.

Heighten Your Awareness:

Here is a fun challenge that can show you, right before your eyes, how powerful the law of attraction can be.  I call it the ‘Dollar Challenge’.  This week, I challenge you to ‘attract’ $1.00. It can be all coins, or an actual bill.  Here are the rules… the money cannot come from your own couch cushions, but it MUST come to you without you asking for it.  The most likely situation will be that you find it on the ground, in the street, etc.  One Dollar.  I encourage you to give this a try, have fun, keep your eyes open, and then come back to share how your dollar came to you.

By knowing what you want, you will be in a mindset that allows you to see opportunities for achieving your goal that you may have otherwise missed.  When you attend a Live Event with a goal in mind, your eyes will be open to your ‘golden opportunities’.  So practice this by completing the Dollar Challenge, then apply it to your Live Event experience.  You can’t help but come out on top.

One way to begin taking action is to announce your goals for a Live Event within your community.  At the Coaching Cognition Page, we have set up a specific discussion thread for the June 2010 Live Event where you can do exactly that.  Find out ahead of time if there are others who will be attending with similar goals by POSTING YOUR GOALS HERE.

  1. These are great tips Kendall. Thank you!

One more tip – be sure to take what you learn at the event and put it into action. It’s easy to get excited and inspired when you’re there, and then lose momentum (or even get overwhelmed) when you get home. So find a coach, peer coach, or mastermind team, and move forward together to reach your goals.

  2. I was just re-reading this post. There is a lot of good information in it. It might be worth mailing to all of the registered attendees.

I have also prepared something that I believe would really help attendees prepare- it is a webinar for which the topic is, “How to Network at Live Events.” I have been gratified by the fact that two terrific experts have agreed to be interview on this webinar. Michelle Donovan has written a book on networking which has appeared on many best-seller lists, including the Wall Street Journal. And Ken McArthur has written a best seller called IMPACT; Ken’s expertise is in the area of live events and deal brokering.

I invite all attendees to take advantage of this before they leave for Portland (or any other live event this summer). The webinar is free and will take place June 22. Information here:
    http://www.live-event-networking.com/

I am very keen to perfect a marketing funnel with Mike in Portland. I sewnt in my homework to Mike (draft funnel plan). I’m looking forward to learning. And I am looking forward to networking. I’m not the best networker… so I am looking forward to this interview as much as anyone.

Just a quick heads-up everyone on a few announcements–

Class 1 of Marketing Funnel Mastery is now posted in the Vault.

Anyone who was an active Renegade Professional before today can access it.

The same username and password that allows you to log into Renegade Professional will get you into the Vault.

The Vault is where we will post all future Marketing Funnel Mastery classes in the future (there will be 11 more + some possible bonus classes to fill in any gaps I see while reviewing your funnels throughout the course).  You’ll find the Vault at www.MarketingMerge.com (button at top of page).

The next class, Class 2, will be posted inside the Vault on June 8th, where I’ll review in detail examples of complete funnels for various industries, including a properly constructed front-end and back-end for networkers, affiliate marketers, traditional businesses coming online, coaches, consultants)–

In Class 2 we’ll also get started on drawing YOUR FUNNEL.  I’ll have hand-outs for you to print to assist you in doing that for Class 2.

I highly suggest studying Class 1 thoroughly a few days before Class 2 if you didn’t feel you grasped ALL the models and concepts.

Sharing MFM with Others

Those of you interested in sharing the entire MFM course, we’ll be offering it soon at $997 and will have an affiliate program for those of you who would like to add that somewhere in the back-end of your funnel.  More on that after Class 2.

Considering the Ad Funnel (PPC, etc)

Watch the short video I posted last night at www.MarketingMerge.com and consider clicking on the button below the video to opt-in for some amazing free value from Mark Hoverson and Jonathan Budd on how to improve Sweet Spot #1 in your funnel (traffic coming in).

Live Event in June, Portland, OR

I’m really excited to get to see many of you again, and meet some of you for the first time in Portland at the Live Event.

At the event, we’ll be consolidating the entire 12 course series for Marketing Funnel Mastery into the weekend.  You’ll be able to walk out of there with a fully drawn out funnel and have me there standing over your shoulder helping you do it!

It will be the most important event you could attend because it’s so “on target” with where you are at RIGHT NOW in your business career.

And… because you’ll be going home with a road map for your business to give you clarity like you’ve never had it before on how to cash-flow, referring to a very specific structure to start on immediately upon arriving home.

Those who attend will no doubt make strides MUCH faster than those who don’t.  No doubt about it.

The cost of the event is $195 – Downtown Portland, OR.
June 25th – 27th

It’s from Friday at 3 PM (networking only on Friday) to Sunday evening at 5 PM (Sat and Sun are the hands-on classwork days).

Since Friday is just a ‘meet up’ and networking period, you could show up Saturday and be there by 9 AM and still get access to the full value of what we’ll be covering.

This should be enough information to prepare and make flight arrangements.

We’ll have more details and a registration form available to you next week.
Over 250 people already indicated they are coming… I suspect it will be less but still, it’s going to be quite a showing–bigger than the first Live Event last January!

Hope you can make it!  It will make a HUGE difference for you.

Inspired to help you break through this year!

  1. Mike the first class was awesome I’ve been a Renegade professional for close to two years now and I must say this is arguably the best training that I’ve seen from you so far.

If you didn’t make the first event I’d suggest you do everything humanly possible to make this one, believe me you won’t be disappointed!

  2. This training is coming just at the right time for me. I’m seriously engaged in a partnership where our marketing funnel needs to be defined clearly. We have already started and will compare our attempt to your recommendations and make adjustments as needed.

Just a quick heads-up because so much is going on right now– and this IS the biggest news we’ve had in over 2 years.

If you haven’t watched the “Historic Presentation” yet (class 1 of Marketing Funnel Mastery), you can watch it now at http://www.MarketingMerge.com

But you can also get paid for sharing it…

Assuming you agree it’s a life-changing presentation that others need to see!

Since it will no longer be available to the general public after Saturday night, now IS the time to act.   After Saturday, it’ll cost $997 to access this (unless you were an ACTIVE Renegade Professional member before Saturday night–because even those who join Renegade Professional after Saturday will have to pay $997–now is the time!)

Here’s how you can earn from my labor this year by telling people about Class 1:

Put your Renegade University or Renegade Professional username in front of MarketingMerge.com so it looks like this:

username.MarketingMerge.com

Refer people there now to watch the “epic” presentation before Saturday at 9 PM PT.

Refer them again on Saturday.

After they watch Class 1 of Marketing Funnel Mastery, many will be compelled to click the button below the presentation that says:  Enroll with Renegade Professional.

When they enroll, you’ll get $25.

If you’re an active Renegade Professional yourself, you’ll get $25 for EVERY MONTH they are a member–which will likely be a long time because of all the value they’ll get this year (including all 12 classes of this course).

If you’re NOT an active Renegade Professional, become one.  Or, you could remain at Renegade University level and just get a one time payment of $25 (no residuals).  You won’t have access to Marketing Funnel Mastery, however, which is a bad idea.  I’m assuming if you’re still just at the “Renegade University” level you haven’t watched the presentation yet (Class 1 of Marketing Funnel Mastery) at www.MarketingMerge.com — You should do that now before it’s taken down Saturday because otherwise you’ll have to pay $997 to see it.

Anyone who is a active Renegade Professional before Saturday night at 9 PM PT has access to all 12 classes at no additional cost except their low monthly membership at Professional!

Live Event in Portland on June 26th-27th (plus networking event on 25th)

(This event is the same topic as what we’ll cover in all 12 classes of Marketing Funnel Mastery, but with me right there helping you do it!)…

We have 125 currently registered to attend the live event in Portland, and growing by the hour!

Please don’t plan on attending unless  you’ve watched Class 1 of Marketing Funnel Mastery (either you attended the live event on Wednesday, or you watched or will soon watch the re-recording at www.MarketingMerge.com).

At the Portland event, I’ll be helping you create a clearly drawn-out funnel detailing how you’ll generate your leads and cash-flow this is unique to you, your strengths and business model.  Powerful stuff.

Email Lisa@marketingmerge.com with “Live Event” in the subject by Saturday night if you plan to attend–it is free to all who registered for the Wednesday Webinar as long as you email her before Saturday night at 9 PM PT.

OK, that’s all for now!

  1. When testing the link for this, I’m getting major Warnings about the “Website Security Certificate” and to close the page. This happens in both Firefox and IE.

I would imagine this will discourage anyone from signing up before Saturday.
Maybe someone can look into it. Hopefully, its only my computer.
    Thanks

  2. I am so glad I have been learning at my own pace as a pro. Excited about this next class, as things are beginning to make sense to me. 64 and climbing. thanks for what you do.

  3. Yes, it class 1 was the most powerful training I’ve been on. Reaching your goals in life is more than just training, it’s the right kind of training and Mike brings it every time. It seems like he knows where people are and always moves them in the right direction to have a long term business. By concentrating on showing us how to become a valuable asset in the network marketing community in our own way he is showing the leadership and guidance that serious network marketers need. The people that take this training will be around for a long time. It’s great we have you in our corner Mike. Thanks you.

Lee Wise

Lee Wise

Lee Wise was chosen to win the contest and will receive a free professional cover for his new e-book.

There were some great submissions for this contest…

While everyone couldn’t win the ‘free e-book cover contest,’ everyone who submitted did win by walking away with a product of their own that they can now develop further into their own marketing funnel.

And that’s outstanding!

“Forced Concentrated Effort”

Watch the video below by Lee Wise where he shares how this contest pushed him to concentrate and create something that now makes him more valuable to the marketplace.  THAT’S what it’s all about!

Congratulations Lee!

  1. Good Evening!

Wow, what a way to end the evening: I just received the
email letting me know about the results of this contest!

Mike, I believe you are so correct in saying that in effect
those of us who entered the contest won because of what it
forced us to do — which is certainly the case with me.

In fact, I remember the feelings of accomplishment — and a
bit of “unbelief” — after I hit the send key to turn in the
pdf. Thoughts similar to “I can’t believe I finally did
this” lingered as I just stood there in silence taking it
all in (I have a makeshift stand up desk).

I thank you, Jerry Chen, Eric Walker and whoever else in the
Renegade Community made this possible. What a great
    challenge and opportunity!

All the best to you and the team as you continually strive
to provide excellence in training and encouragement to many
like myself in the Renegade Professional Community and to
those who will join our ranks in the future.

I would like to offer my congratulations as well to all who
did enter the contest: although I don’t know all of you, I
certainly wish you the best in OUR next steps of getting our
    ebooks “out there!”

    Gratefully,

    Lee

  26. Lee,
You well deserve to earn the prize of the contest, realizing the focus and inner work you went through to meet the criteria of the learning process. The way you have shared that journey here is invaluable.

Your incredible video for me,and each reader here, provides a hugely motivational and instructional summary of your process.

Jerry Chen made it possible for you and others to get into the “stretch zone”. with practical tools to get moving on this project.

Deadlines work. I have a fabulous ebook cover just created by Jim Finale of Finale Creative for the Leadership Branding course. The deadline pressed me to get that work done.

Your video is a huge help to me.

I have stated to the Coaching Cognition group that August is my deadline for the ebook.

So, Thanks Lee for a clear concise summary of what that process will look like for me.

    And Congratulations on your success.

  36. Hi,

I am excited. Got a glimpse of the ebook cover that was designed as a result of the ebook contest and I am definitely pumped!

Just thought I’d let you know…

  37. Hey Lee -

Be sure to show off the cover once it’s done :-)

I’m certain that you’ll make good use of it!

  38. @Jerry… Hey, Jerry… that’s a no brainer, lol! I will definitely be showing off that cover!

    Lee

    Comment by Lee Wise — April 30, 2010 @ 12:18 pm

  39. Definitely… Lee, let’s see that cover! I can’t wait to see it… we should post an article here with it at the News and let the community see it for sure. (hope it looks good lol)

  40. @Mike…

Well, here’s the cove: i.e. on the sales page.

The book is not there yet, but I am in the final stages of getting everything in place as you can see if you click on my name (it should lead everyone to my “sales-page-in-development.”

    This is exciting!

It is definitely going to take me several days to get all the stuff done. On the Coaching Cognition coaching call today my “challenge commitment” was to announce to the group at this time that all was “a go.” That will be a real stretch! So we’ll see.

As usual, thanks for the encouragement!

  41. Hey Lee – I saw the image on the sales page. Looking good. Is that the final version? Also took the liberty to check out your Attraction Marketing Excellence website. GREAT voice greeting!

    Comment by Jerry Chen — May 10, 2010 @ 3:13 pm

  42. @Jerry Thanks for the encouragement. Yes, that version is very close to “phase one” sales page. Very close now to getting the ebook up for sale.

Oh, and thanks for the comment on the greeting: I was wondering how people respond to it.

Thanks for being a positive influence in my life,

    Lee

    Comment by Lee Wise — May 12, 2010 @ 4:32 am

  43. Hello, Folks…

The ebook is up and for sale! Still more work to do on the page but it folks can now purchase.

Thanks again for everyone’s encouragement. I hope to have an affiliate program ready to go very soon: ideally, this will be by the end of today!

    Lee

    Comment by Lee Wise — May 17, 2010 @ 11:50 am

  44. Well, the step-by-step progress continues: as of a few hours ago I was able to get the Affiliate Program up and running. Now someone can share my ebook and receive 45% commission.

    Step by step.
    Day by day.
    Continual growth process.

    Thanks again for the encouragement!

How important is it to you to save money and time while cash-flowing YOUR dreams?

When you’re developing out your business you want to find the least expensive and fastest ways of getting the job done.

That’s what a membership at Renegade Professional is all about.

Just ask Jason Siebold who took advantage of Jerry Chen’s training at Renegade Professional on “Creating Your E-book.” Jason was going to create an e-book soon anyway and had been investigating different tools to do it. When he went through the “E-book Creation” course, he got an extra surprise benefit he wasn’t expecting. Not only was he able to create his e-book faster with the help of the training, he saved $550 by learning of free tools he hadn’t been aware of that were actually better to get the job done!

That’s what a membership at Renegade Professional is all about. Thank you Jason for sharing this video with us on your own accord!

Listen to Jason share his experience and visit his landing page for marketing of the e-book he created!

  1. Yes, it’s true. You do save money being in Renegade Professional. I was one of those searchers going everywhere and spending a lot of money on products and memberships just so that I could be in the know.

But since I’ve been a Professional, I’ve saved at least $60 a month that I am aware of, which is the total of 2 other memberships I had.

They are no longer needed. Everything I need is right here and much more.

Now that the face of the Super guide program is morphing into a new phase, Renegade Professional offers much more than any other membership site I’ve seen.

And I’ve seen and been part of many!

Mike Klingler

Mike Klingler here.

As most of you already know, I’ve been studying social media marketing for over 2 years with tremendous success.

And I’ve committed much of my time to teaching what I’ve learned.

Now, the next chapter!!!

Over the last several months I’ve found some new ways to leverage what I like to call “The Power 5″ social media locations to accomplish even more with less time.  It’s exciting stuff.

To show and tell, in the style of teaching I love to do, I’ll be doing what I teach at my business Fan Page at Facebook, which is one of these Power 5 locations (this is different from the personal Face book page where you probably follow me at now).

I’ll be showing you how to use the Facebook business pages to duplicate what I’ve learned with less time.

Follow what I’m doing at Facebook business pages so you can stay connected to this next phase of my teaching cirriculum.  What I do here will connect with my next version of training at Renegade Professional.

Click to become a fan and follow the process over next few months.

By the way, if you’d like to be able to talk with me, now you can.  Ask me your question at the Discussions Area once becoming a fan.

Partners in success,

Mike Klingler

  6. HI Mike! I shared this comment in your Fan Page Discussion but wanted to share it here too…

Funny, I teach about the “Big 4″ but the Fan Page is something that I have been contemplating with for months… Here’s my post:

“Hi Mike! This is sooo cool! THANK YOU for taking the initiative and leading the way to educate the community re the benefits of a Fan Page. I for one have contemplated the idea of a fan page for a few months now but here are the 2 biggest reasons I haven’t moved forward with creating one:

    1) I can’t get over the idea of me inviting people to “Become My Fan”… why can’t it just be “Let’s Learn From Each Other” or something? ;) I know it’s a rather shallow excuse but I guess my #2 reason is is really what has been stopping me and that is,

    2) I already have to consciously limit my time for my social media mktg efforts, especially now that I am in product and course creation mode. I am already having a bit of a challenge making time to build and foster my relationships on my personal FB profile that to add another page – a Fan Page- where I really have to be consistently “present” and maintain makes me a bit nervous that one of them might suffer from lesser TLC…

One of my mentors ( soon to launch a book am co-authoring with her) Social Media Expert Mari Smith, is a huge advocate of Fan Pages and that’s what prompted me to seriously consider it.

I know sooner or later, I have to do it since I have so much I would like to teach and share as far as how to use technology and Relationship or Relational Marketing to grow ones business!

I am all eyes – and ears – to what you’re doing! I continue to learn immensely from you and I absolutely trust your direction and pioneering spirit!

    In Gratitude,

    Emma ;)

  9. This is so right for me at this time. I’ve had doubts as to how social networking really added to the overall value one brings to the table in order to get leads. I have lots to learn in this area and I’m ready for the mind shift.

  17. @ Ed, yah, Twitter needs a new background and will do some other things (showing each piece of it)

But mainly its my YouTube that must come alive next.

Then will show you how to make them all synergize.

    It’s powerful stuff.

At Facebook right now what I want you to notice is how I focus everyone’s attention on the Discussion page allowing me to facilitate rather than have all the answers myself.

I direct people there to participate making it a condensed hot spot of activity.

That is just one of many things I’ll be showing in order to synergize the social media locations and be able to direct people to events, offers, new lead capture pages, etc that you wish to promote.

But doing it all as a servant with the first aim to assist and be a resource.

What People Are Saying...

This is THE MOST INCREDIBLE TRAINING! I just finished listening to it and taking notes. During the course of the past 70 minutes, I’ve identified my niche–finally–and I feel as though I’m on fire to move forward!

Several months ago I connected with a fabulous coach through Renegade/MarketingMerge/Coaching Cognition. Through her patient, consistent guidance in helping me to peel back the layers and really get in touch with myself, I began the “journey” to finding my niche.

This pre-training for the Smart Beginners weekly webinars, in combination with the superb
coaching I’ve already been receiving, has moved me to the place of being sure of my niche. Your emphasis on drilling down to my deepest core passion and making that my SINGULAR FOCUS “clicked” during this audio!
