In the Spotlight
Top Affiliate – Scott Rogers
Meet Scott Rogers, an original Renegade, and top affiliate for both The Renegade Network Marketer ebook, and Renegade Professional.
I caught up with Scott earlier this week, and I asked him one specific question that I thought the Renegade Professional community would want to know:
Q: “Scott, what is your attraction marketing secret? What can you tell the community they may not know?”
A: (paraphrase) “I didn’t stop. I stuck with and focused on a couple free marketing mediums and never let up. What I see happen is people get started and create some content – maybe even a good chunk of content. And after three or four months, they may not see many leads, so they quit. Often times that’s the only difference.
It’s a critical time to NOT quit and keep going after the original effort and outpour of content. People MUST keep going. This is true for any amount of internet business success.
And also, I’ve been able to personally identify with my target market and their hot button issues/concerns, and provide solutions to them in my content.”
Scott has, indeed, kept going. Last year he created over 180 informational videos all of which address the struggles and issues faced by many who desire success in this industry.
Here’s what Mike Klingler has noted about Scott Rogers:
He never makes excuses. He’s a family guy with his values in the right place – he finds time for helping out at home and still, somehow, he’s kept on working his business. There’s something about successful people – they never utter an excuse.
He’s consistent. He chips away at pumping out new content regularly.
His process is smart and focused. He directs people into the Renegade University to churn out highly qualified leads WHILE generating multiple cash streams. He understands leverage and stays focused on using it.
He keeps his focus to a couple social marketing strategies. He created a strong foundation for written content with his blog, and Squidoo. This has allowed him to move into video with significantly more success. Video without a foundation is not nearly as strong as when you have a content foundation first. Scott has it.
He was patient when he started. When he first started out with all this about a two years ago, it was frustrating at first. He didn’t quit. He buckled down and it’s paid huge dividends. He never needs to think about a job or working for someone else again. Even if something were to happen to his networking company he is secure with his knowledge and ‘web of content’ he’s created, as well as his list that continues to grow.
He GIVES a lot. He’s always sharing. He’s always giving value and incorporating the ‘attraction principles’ as you’ve been learning them at Renegade Professional.

Congrats to Scott Rogers! One thing is for sure, he hasn’t been picking daisies for the last year and a half or so.
More tweaks and improvements coming to this site. We realize it’s not perfect, but also want this to be a teaching point:
It doesn’t have to be perfect! We’re getting it out to all of you, and providing the news from Renegade Professional. And that is what you may want to keep in mind for your own marketing.
More great things to come! Thanks for tuning into the news.

OK, two posts up someone spammed.
I actually think we should leave it here as an example of exactly what NOT to do on the net.
It is bad for YOUR business.
So James Peter Brooks, I know you’re excited but always remember–VALUE FIRST.
I can tell you’re likely not a member of Renegade Professional. If you are, continue through the training and soon you can refer to this as an example of what not to do… and you’ll be able to relate to the spammers on the net who think it’s beneficial to do so. Thus you’ll make a great teacher and such a role will truly benefit your business, as well as others.
Mike
Comment by Mike Klingler — July 23, 2009 @ 12:06 pm
OK, that’s another spam post.
What is it about ‘giving value’ that’s so hard to ‘get’
Spamming actually requires significantly more effort with significantly less result than taking some time to give value. Not to mention it’s far more rewarding to do business right!
Students, read the two spam comments in this thread and take notice–spread the word!
mike
Comment by Mike Klingler — July 24, 2009 @ 3:51 pm
I actually got drawn into this thread by the “recent comments” column on the news page. I saw that Mike had commented on spam, and I’m always interested in learning something about how to do things.
I’ve been online a long time (since 1996), and I agree absolutely with Mike. It’s a lot more work to spam than it is to really add value.
One thing I’ve learned is that if it feels like work, and it feels repetitive, and it feels like you’re not getting any results–you’re probably not doing it right.
Comment by Angie Dixon — July 24, 2009 @ 4:17 pm
Mike: Like the new format, looks good with some interesting comments. I think you are right – show both the good and the “bad” so we can all learn what to do and what not to do. As you have said many times before – when we provide value there is no need to “spam” because people will be naturally attracted to you because of the value you provided. It’s easy to get over zealous about our opportunities because we believe in them so much. But “spamming” is the fastest way to turn people off to what you have to offer.

Congradulations to Scott Rogers. You knew what you wanted and you stuck to your guns until you got it. Now that had to really be worth all of the hard work, staying lazer focused, and never quitting. I still have a J-O-B, but after 9 hours there I come home and put in another 7 to 8 hours. Sometimes I wonder if I am pushing to hard but I just cannot quit. I want this to bad and being a part of the Renegade Professionals had been the most valuable asset I have had to train me. Thanks to Mike, Ann, Superguides, guides, and everyone involved. My time is coming!!!
Comment by Sherry Prince — July 24, 2009 @ 5:13 pm
Thanks Sherry, Eric, and everyone else for the kind words! There’s a lot of truth in balancing your business-building action with your training and education…
I always encourage people to keep things simple, focus on the fundamentals, learn as you go, and always practice “CEA” – Consistent Effective Action.
You don’t have to know everything (no one ever does), but once you “get it” – the rest is just improving and advancing in actions and small details along the way.
Truth is, YOU are the most important part of the success puzzle. Improve yourself, your knowledge, and your actions – and I KNOW you can achieve huge things
To YOUR Success,
Scott Rogers

Scott -
;D
a huge congratulations to you for being the #1 Renegade dude – that is so awesome and you totally deserve it.
It is easy to feel that all the things we are doing aren’t getting us anywhere but I really liked your formula – CEA – consistent effective action – it really does make the difference.
I think I try to complicate things more than I should instead of focusing on those RPA’s – revenue producing activities – which in this internet marketing business comes right down to creating content and tons of it.
Thanks for your example to me – you are an inspiration! I want to be you! And I WILL keep working at my business.

Well said Patrice,
And you’re correct, there are so many entrepreneurial opportunities to latch onto within this community, and at the same time, be an integral part of it.
It starts with getting a thorough foundation at Renegade Professional, going through the tutorials (2 or 3 times each) and getting your web of marketing set up.
All the while keeping tapped in and keenly observant of what Renegade Professional is doing – their model is a study in and of itself.
As a Renegade Pro community member grows into the fabric and embeds themselves here, they’ll find an area of interest that is perfect for collaboration – either with other community members or with Renegade Professional itself (that’s not a stretch).
This is a movement – Renegade Professional is a movement, a growing economy in and of itself that is massively expanding.
Hence, you have the Renegade Professional News – this will be a foundational part of communication to keep our beloved community always in the know.

=> Helpful Tip (A Lesson I’ve Learned the Hard Way):
Learn how to continue EARNING and BUILDING while you are going through the LEARNING stage here in Professional.
Don’t let this time of learning cause you to stay even or slow down your income and downline growth. Make sure BOTH are happening.
If your personal donwline/income growth is stagnate – most likely your recruit’s progress will be slow as well, and no one wins.
There is a specific key to making sure you put yourself in an environment where you can achieve this kind of needed balance between learning what is effective and keeping your business/income growing at the same time.
I encourage you to focus on the fundamentals, then you can add the details as you go. Don’t try to be a “jack of all trades”…
Start by focusing on maybe just ONE marketing strategy, learning what you can on that, and then becoming consistent with that.
A quote I once heard:
“Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can.”
Another great one from a multi-millionaire:
“You don’t have to get it right; you just have to get it going.” (then improve as you go.)
Evaluate the setup you are in and learn how to leverage your time and actions the best to achieve your desired end result!
To YOUR Success,
Scott Rogers
