When I was in a networking business I did a TON of prospecting on the telephone.

I had to deal with a lot of prospects who were VERY challenging to work with.

I remember my early years–

Talk about frustration!

Many of them had no money.

Others had unrealistic expectations.

Some were just down right depressed.

Others hostile.

Some would talk and talk and talk
Some were distracted.

Some were really kind people but totally feared change.

Others only needed a nudge. For me to ask one good question that ended up leading them forward THANKING me for the dramatic impact it had on them it.  Wow.

I learned the hard way–and the long way–how to positively influence people; how to change the way they think about things by helping them discover the answers for themselves.

As you know, with Barbara Silva’s Coaching Cognition training soon opening up, you’ll be able to learn these skills head on, in a safe environment and quickly.

Instead of it taking years it can be learned in months.

These skills will assist you in nearly every interaction you have (in your business AND personal life).

They’ll assist you in understanding people in general (helping you in all forms of communication, including emails and copy), and how to lead people to action (key).

They’ll assist you in your confidence, competence and how your marketing comes across.

Obviously, they will assist you in succeeding by addressing the “essential list” we’ve talked about over these last two weeks.

A Safe Environment To Learn To Lead

Just one of the valuable aspects of Coaching Cognition is live role playing.

You’ll have lots of opportunities to participate in the LIVE role playing–

This alone can be life-changing… because it’s where you learn some of the ‘finer distinctions’ (AKA, developing a “keen insight”–the first item on the ‘essential list’).

It may sound scary at first; but in this environment it’s actually quite safe and fun–no one is ever put on the spot.

Role playing is an extremely important part of learning at a fast pace.  Because it gives a type of “accelerated experience.”

Here’s why it’s accelerated…

The Impact of a “Real Life” Role Playing Session

When role playing, one “coach in training” will pretend to be a challenging prospect or client.  The other ‘coach in training’ will pretend to be the Coach.

Interactive discussions among the students and Barbara help the Coaches pinpoint key moments in the conversation where it could move forward, or fall flat.

Ever had a conversation with a prospect or client fall flat or go south when you wanted it to go north?

Imagine holding a compass that you could use during any given conversation and always knowing where north is (moving toward their goals positively).

And whenever your prospect or client goes the wrong direction you’re able to ask a question to get them to realize ON THEIR OWN how to correct course so they can achieve what it is they want faster.

You’ll have “Influence” with such a skill.

Through role playing with Barbara and the other students, you’ll learn to recognize patterns in conversation and what to do to build bridges that lead it forward constructively.

The power comes by learning to recognize the patterns and ‘own’ the questions that definitively lead someone forward.

One of the role playing sessions I listened to was between Eric Walker and Claire Covington–they were in the first Coaching Cognition training course offered by Barbara.

Here, Eric Walker role plays as the client and pretends to have just signed up in a new opportunity and has very “Unrealistic Expectations.”

Claire Covington pretends to be the Coach.

They then discuss the pivotal moments in the conversation where it could go north or ’south’ and this is when you pick up the skills.

You’ll have access to the recordings of this very role playing session with Claire and Eric, along with many more from the first students who have now graduated from Coaching Cognition.

AND, of course… you’ll be able to have ‘accelerated experience’ of your own by partaking in the new LIVE sessions offered.

In the next two emails, I’m going to answer these two questions

1. “What Does Coaching Have To Do With YOUR Business.” (just in case that isn’t clear yet)
2. “How Coaching Impacts Your Personal Life”

I’ll soon share the details of what is completely covered in this highly in-depth six month course.

In case you missed it, watch what Claire has to say about her experience with the entire Coaching Cognition program.

We’ll be opening this to new students for a limited time in early October.

After that, you’ll have to wait until next year to become a coach with us again.

So if you have interest in moving forward fast this year with Coaching, please pay close attention to our emails.

I’ll share more details as I have them.

Partners in success,
Mike Klingler

  1. I am so priviledged to know that my name is on the list for Coaching Cognition. I listened to both Claire’s and Eric’s comments on their experience with the beta phase of this program. I know that their lives are forever changed.
Eric coached me for a season and I can vouch for his very targeted, yet intuitive ability to get to the core of the matter. Eric was able, because of the skills he acquired in Coaching Cognition to zero in on the central area of development need.
I look forward to participating, growing as a person and business owner.
Coaching Cognition warrants your close consideration.

  2. I,m looking forward to being able to take the Coaching Cognition Course. I was unable to access the list to put my name on, it came up as a system error. Could you please let me know another way to get on it.
    Thank You

  3. Not Getting Paid to Coach? You’re Probably Not that Valuable.

With Coaching Cognition, I learned how to be valuable. I fit myself into the Coaching Cognition platform, and now I’m getting clients sent to me who pay.

Now I can call myself a coach.

    Before…

I was one of the people who called themselves a coach.

We see it all the time, it’s in their profile descriptions at the Social Media locations. It’s sounds similar to this:

“Hi I’m First Last, an internet network marketing coach and consultant. Get coaching from me and I will teach you attraction marketing lead generation so you can leverage the power of the internet to build your online business the most effective way possible.”

With so many people saying that, unless you’re really IT, you won’t differentiate yourself and be an active coach.

Trust me – I went that route for months. Sure, there were months where I’d have a few coaching clients, but nothing predictable.

Then I decided to join Coaching Cognition because I wanted to be a REAL coach, who’d gone through REAL training with a “coach of coaches” who had received REAL coaching training.

That’s Barbara Silva. And that’s Coaching Cognition.

You can also find more about Coaching here for your convenience:

Webinar #2 Get Paid to Coach

Upon going through the Coaching Cognition training, my confidence grew, and I realized NOW I’m a real PAID coach.

It’s already amazing, the Coaching Cognition platform has been sending me paying clients who already know who I am and want to receive coaching from me.

  4. Some great information here for those wishing to get into coaching. I think its important to be clear on what you want to achieve.

Do you really want to be a coach? That could be coaching others on how to be successful but your business may revolve entirely around coaching.

That works well for solo-preneurs who can coach and get paid an hourly rate and also package their knowledge into information products and thus create some passive income.

Coaching alone is still only trading time for dollars so its really important to be clear on what you want because the odds are you will attract it if you stick with it!

In Network Marketing I’ve found that you very quickly see how valuable you are as a coach. You either get paid as a professional or you run your business as a hobby.

This course will be a brilliant asset to those who really want to develop coaching skills or even perhaps those who need to discover whether they have what it takes or have the passion to be a generic type coach.

For example I love the Network Marketing model of coaching because its fast paced and very focussed. I don’t enjoy the coaching where I get paid by the hour because it reminds me too much of a job. I get asked to do consulting work and I actually turn it down but am very happy to consult with people on the right direction for them when they become a team member or affiliate with me.

Its funny but just goes to show that we are all unique and need to find our passion as Mike always says.

Keep the good stuff coming guys! You inspire us all to greater things.

  5. Coaching skills are important if one wants to build a lasting Network Marketing business. Everytime we sponsor a new person into our business the coaching, and leadership must start right away to retain ones team members.
Coaching Cognition training is a great idea.

  6. Over the past two years, I have found that I really have a passion for teaching and coaching. Of course, what I have been doing is mostly natural skills and what I have learned on my own. I am VERY anxious for the launch of Coaching Cognition so I can learn how to do my passion the right way.

  7. I believe the coaching cognition is the best thing for me because of all the skills you learn.
People can recognize when somebody has true coaching skills and that’s what’s so great about this program.

It set’s you apart as a leader that can help others in making a dream really come true. Look at the people that have learned how to coach from this program. I know enough about most of the people that have gone through this program that I wouldn’t think for one moment they couldn’t get me where I want to be.

  11. @ David Arnold, I would encourage you to follow the links within this article. Barbara Silva has two short videos explaining Coaching Cognition. You should have an opportunity with them to submit your name for the next class.

The links to recorded videos of participants provided are excellent also.

Hope that helps you get more insight on the program.

  13. It’s all about helping others in the best possible way that you can. Then why wouldn’t a person want to learn how to coach? It’s a win-win scenario.

Click on the links above and listen to Claire and Eric tell of their experiences. I was in the first coaching class with them and totally agree with them!

  17. Barbara has been a mentor for me, even thought we have never met face to face, I had the good fortune to interview her a few weeks ago and she is definitely a coach’s coach.

I have patiently waited for these sessions to start; we are just a few days away. As with everything else Renegade has had to offer thus far, this will truly be the frosting on the cake for me.

I thank you so very much for this chance!

  18. Coaching is something you are either good at or not. Many try to coach without any idea how to share their unique skills. Some who gain knowledge and experience failure in their chosen area of interest turn to coaching as a way to redeem the time they put into learning. DO NOT follow a coach unless they have been successful in their area of expertise. I spent many years in direct sales of financial service products and met many manager/coaches who failed at selling and were no better at coaching new people. The best coach is one who has failed his/her way to the top of their field. These coaches know how to be successful. So the bottom line in selecting a coach is finding a successful individual who also has developed leadership/ coaching skills. NOT ALL SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE MAKE GOOD COACHES! SO Develop your leadership?coaching skills before attempting to coach others! Good coaches gain satisfaction from helping others, false coaches only care about the monetary return for time. Are you willing to enrich other for the satisfaction of seeing them succeed in life and business?

  20. I have been busy studying all these weeks, months. And I enjoyed everything, Ann, Mike, David (Garfinkel) – and now I am finally beginning to feel ready. Need to take some pictures of myself, We have created a company, new email addresses etc. I will start with the Marketing merge profile, and web (Living with a purpose). And then my own web. And I really would like to study coaching!! But I live in Brussels, Belgium, so I can not interact with the other students (time zone difference). Do you have a solution ?

    Comment by Arlette Stanley — November 4, 2009 @ 12:45 pm

  21. Hi Arlette,

I’m pretty sure they’ll be quite a few others from your time zone (or close to it) in Coaching Cognition.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Barbara will be able to facilitate you!

Email support@marketingmerge.com and ask that very question. She is an amazing person who seems to always find a way to help someone make it work.

  22. The idea that we should “find a mentor” or “find a coach” has been in the MLM tradition for quite a while. A number of the guru MLM books give that advice. Finally, we have Renegade Professional merging the best of internet marketing (check!), network marketing (check!), and now coaching (triple check!). The merge grows. So what is the role of a coach or mentor – I took a stab at that here: http://www.squidoo.com/FindaBizCoach

What People Are Saying...

I am so glad I made it to the Live Event! I had just been recovering from back surgery and didn't know if I could handle both the travel and sitting time, but I made up my mind I would still continue with my plans, and am thankful I did. It exceeded all my expectations! I loved getting to meet all my Renegade friends in person, as well as getting to meet other new friends who are aspiring entrepreneurs. I know we are on the cutting edge of something so BIG! The Live Event was over the top, and the people who make up the Renegade Community are amazing! Looking forward to attending the next one!
