Honestly…it was a great time in January. But I also think their is something to be said for scarcity and yearly events, etc….My initial feeling, even though I loved the live event
, is that it’s too soon to replay and that it may not have the same impact, nor the same type of crowd…I know that I’ve got it on my schedule again for January 2011..and looking forward to it. Just my 2 cents…could be wrong.

Hi, Mike (and Eric)-
You know, when I met both of you at the live event in Portland (not being involved with network marketing) I barely knew who you were…how I came to be there is a long story…but just say that it was a spur-of-the moment, “just have a feeling I should do this” decision not based on anything but a vague but respectful awareness of Anne Sieg and a gut instinct that you all had something really valuable to offer.
Pretty much also the story of my fast and furious entry into the Renegade world a few months ago…and what great decisions those were…it just goes to show that sometimes you really do see something you’ve never seen – it just makes so much sense that’s the logic is undeniable – and going with it can change your life for the better.
I’m still in the cocoon when it comes to being a Renegade and establishing an automated online business (my goal)but everything I’m learning at Renegade Professional and in Coaching Cognition is actually helping me do, be, think and communicate better in my business and personal life.
Meeting the people and absorbing such sheer inspiration threw the switch in Portland and ever since I’ve been buzzing (not in a getting electrocuted sort of way) but in the sense of making incredible progress. It’s like I see everything in a new light. I’ve reorganized the way I do my current business, completely revamped my office, and found new partners (now that I know what a JV is.)
I credit going to the Live Event as the start of it all, because it proved that what you’re saying is real and somehow gave me the confidence to break out of my self-created rut and go for it. Now I’m charting out a framework for my first eBook and I’m looking forward to going through the training on that. I suddenly feel completely confident that I can do this. Believing creates achieving, right?
Anyway, aside from being a rousing endorsement of your live events, great people and teaching methods, this is also a request that you consider holding future events on the East Coast. I’d really like to be able to attend more!

@ Deborah — We’re not planning on designing this event the same way. In fact, we’re going to model more of what we did on Monday (the day after many left the Live Event but where some remained for ‘the circle’ sit down)… That’s when we really made some progress because we were able to look at people’s sites, blogs, social media content, lead captures, etc and help them uniquely.
We’re going to take everything we learned at the first live event and make this one even better.
It won’t be for everyone, or necessary for everyone–but remember, for every person you saw there in January, there were at least 5 more who wished they could have made it.
Likely we won’t allow as many at this next one…
But we’ve already had a lot of people say they’re coming so its definitely a need. If not, we wouldn’t do it!
It was great getting to meet you guys there and looking forward to meeting more of you, and seeing some of you again!
Mike

@Laurel, thank you for sharing that.
I really love what you said here as it gets to the core of why we’re doing this again (for those who couldn’t make the first one):

Greetings fellow Renegades!
It’s really exciting to see that more live events are in the works.
When I was reading Deborah’s comment, I was initially agreeing with what she was saying… the idea that a large style event seems to be best suited for a once a year or twice a year occasion.
But since Mike let loose with some info. on how future events might be structured, I can definitely see the value of having smaller events (almost like a workshop type of set-up) more frequently throughout the year, and possibly taking place in different locations each time.
These types of workshop events structured throughout the year would continually give newer Renegades, who might be getting their feet wet for the first time in learning how to build a business online, the chance to attend a live event much sooner than the once a year occasion and make the experience of online business building much more real to them.
I think everybody can agree on this one, that the power of bridging the gap between online interaction and in-person interaction can’t be overstated.
For many individuals, this is what cements the whole deal for them… that by building a business online you are indeed building tangible relationships in the real world.
Just wanted to share my thoughts on something that I feel is very important!
Take care everyone,
Patrick

@ Pat, we’re leaning toward June 26th and 27th with people arriving on Friday — and Sunday will be a half day so people can connect up afterward and get back home Sunday evening.
This will be more of a work shop like we did with 10 people here in Portland office after January main Live event had ended. It was powerful!
@ Kevin and Patrick, right on!

I was not able to make the event in January, so am looking forward to the next one – glad I don’t have to wait a full year!
Have you thought of holding an event in a different location, like the middle of the country? It would make it a little easier for people on the east coast. Wherever you have it, it is well worth the trip, just thought that it might be nice to nice it around sometimes.

I think it is interesting that we are using the word “community” more and more – as in “The Renegade Community.” This is a good thing on so many levels. For one thing it is a true representation of what takes place. The Renegade Professional isn’t just about training, even if that is what might draw many people to the site for the first time. Even though that may have been the original vision for the site.
We know that the site has evolved and will continue to to so. But the aspect of community has taken a life of its own! Mike’s leadership in all of this is amazing. Have you considered how unlike other gurus Mike is? While firmly in control of his vision, he fearlessly promotes, encourages, and spotlights the members. As does his close associates.
I have written an extensive article about the way in which online “communities” can foster collaboration, focusing on The Renegade Professional as an example.
I would invite you to read it, rate it, and comment upon it.

Keep up the great work. It’s greatly appreciated. You really put me on the right track last week.

As I am in the process of creating a new blog as we speak, this will be a very timely subject for me.
I like the emphasis that the blog is not the money maker. I like the emphasis that I or the blogger is the money maker in providing the solution for what their niche is looking for.
It makes sense to me that as we teach Internet Marketing with success, we are in fact able to demonstrate that success by the number summaries of our businesses generated from…the relationship at the blog.
I’ll be there on the 11.

On a side note…I tried Absolute Links Plugin, and Broken Links Remover for my WordPress blog…but when I put the url in a Link Checker one blog is fine but the other has all broken links (except for the .jpg pictures). Does anyone know of some way to fix it myself? Must I fix them one at a time?
Thank you for any help, especially if you’ve dealt with this problem and found a solution

I’m really excited how this has come together.
One of the biggest missing ‘holes’ in people’s unfulfilled dream boards is they don’t have a product of their own to lead with.
I have spent some time recently on facebook and hubpages discussing this and plan to follow it up with training in the back office, but Jerry you beat me to it! This is a great contribution to help people start filling that missing piece.
And Cindy, what a great example for others who share after getting a benefit from a product. You took it to a whole new level and educated while you did so! Wow. Pillar examples.
Can’t wait to see this reach the community. Put it on my fan page, profile page, twittered it… got an email planned for 60,000+ this week!
Moving the industry forward one important step at a time.
What a great step this is. On behalf of the entire community, thank you!

As someone who recently produced an ebook, I have to say that Jerry’s tutorials were very helpful. I won’t enter the contest because I already had a graphic artist produce an ebook cover for me (so I want someone else to have the chance to win that), but I want to encourage everyone to get on the ebook bandwagon. Its a tremendous way to build your credibility and your list, and if you make it a paid product, build your income.

HI Mike! I shared this comment in your Fan Page Discussion but wanted to share it here too…
Funny, I teach about the “Big 4″ but the Fan Page is something that I have been contemplating with for months… Here’s my post:
“Hi Mike! This is sooo cool! THANK YOU for taking the initiative and leading the way to educate the community re the benefits of a Fan Page. I for one have contemplated the idea of a fan page for a few months now but here are the 2 biggest reasons I haven’t moved forward with creating one:
1) I can’t get over the idea of me inviting people to “Become My Fan”… why can’t it just be “Let’s Learn From Each Other” or something?
I know it’s a rather shallow excuse but I guess my #2 reason is is really what has been stopping me and that is,2) I already have to consciously limit my time for my social media mktg efforts, especially now that I am in product and course creation mode. I am already having a bit of a challenge making time to build and foster my relationships on my personal FB profile that to add another page – a Fan Page- where I really have to be consistently “present” and maintain makes me a bit nervous that one of them might suffer from lesser TLC…
One of my mentors ( soon to launch a book am co-authoring with her) Social Media Expert Mari Smith, is a huge advocate of Fan Pages and that’s what prompted me to seriously consider it.
I know sooner or later, I have to do it since I have so much I would like to teach and share as far as how to use technology and Relationship or Relational Marketing to grow ones business!
I am all eyes – and ears – to what you’re doing! I continue to learn immensely from you and I absolutely trust your direction and pioneering spirit!
In Gratitude,
Emma

Hi Eric,
People seem to think that if they narrow their focus too much they will miss out on some prospects.
They just haven’t done the math:
If you target one percent of 400,000,000 you have a market of 4,000,000.
If one percent of your market is interested you have 400,000 potential propects.
Take one percent of them and you get 40,000 prospects.
I’m pretty sure that with a list of 40,000 you can get something going.
It comes down to this, Do you want to be a small fish in a big lake or a big fish in a small pond?

I am new to Renegade Professional but have a great leader in Marie Leonard.
Marie and I met last year at a health conference and clicked immediately.
After spending almost $40,000 on websites in the past 15 years, I came to realize that they were nothing more than glorified brochures.
I’m still morphing into what my new business is, but I do know that I have a passion for business/entrepreneurs and helping women either start an at-home business, or helping them to grow their existing business online. Empowering women to become successful is an absolute passion of mine!
I know that all of my past experience is leading me to this particular business opportunity and niche market, and look forward to putting into practice the things I am learning through Renegade Professional.
Looking forward to great things in 2010!

I watched the webinar and Eric, you did a great job showing each participant the steps from discovering your niche, through to creating a business opportunity.
The example you used with Http://bringbirthhome.com shows the end result of the relationships built through Kaitlin’s journey in marketing through Renegade Pro.

Hi Eric,
Thanks for reminding everyone about the importance of finding your niche. As you know, helping others find their ideal niche is my passion and focus as a coach.I can’t tell you how many entrepreneurs rush ahead marketing themselves online without setting this foundation for their success. If you don’t nail your niche, you will end up spending a lot of time working hard with little results.
As I explain in my free report, “Ten Steps to Finding and Attracting Your Ideal Niche, you have to answer the 3 W’s: You have to know WHO you’re marketing to, WHAT solution you will provide, and WHY they should do business with you.
Something magic happens when you put these pieces of the puzzle together. You are connecting with a specific group of people who you can genuinely help. They can not only find you through all the “noise”, but they actively seek you out.
Thanks and warm wishes,

What a fantastic way to get started in your business. Everyone needs a marketing plan if you’re building a business online. Can you imagine building a house without an architect drawing up a plan? It’s the same for your business – you need a plan so you know what to do and when to do it.

Eric,
When I was first introduced to RU I was very excited to simply be learning some of the techniques. I upgraded to RP for several months and learned a lot but do to some personal issues I had to downgrade to RU again (looking to return this year).
When I was a RP member I ended up falling into the overwhelmed status and felt like I was jumping around from technique to technique…spinning my wheels and not going anywhere.
I joined an MLM business which I’ve put on hold until I get a better grasp of marketing it so I can generate the necessary leads.
These webinars sound like the answer I need to get back on track and start making traction instead of spinning wheels. I would love to be chosen for a personal session but I realize that won’t happen. I can’t attend the webinars because I work on Thursday nights.
I have 2 questions, first, will you record these webinars and make them available to people on the list for later viewing? Secondly, will webinars ever be done on Tuesday or Wednesday (my nights off)? Just wondering.
Thanks for all that you and the rest of the Renegade Professional staff do for us. I’ve learned a lot and the main thing I have learned is that there is sooo much more I need to learn.

Hey Eric,
Thank you for your hard work and offering us even more training. You guys at Renegade Pro rock!!I actually have two businesses but the burning question is the same for each.
I’m in a network marketing company with one of your friends Deborah Tutnauer and have my blog up and running.
I’m also in PBN and have a blog dedicated to marketing for Physical Therapy practices.
My burning question has been burning like a wild fire for so long and I can’t seem to get a good hold on it. That burning question is….traffic.
I won’t even say what a good day for me for traffic is because it’s pretty embarrassing.
A day with double digit traffic is unheard of. I need direction about how to devote my efforts.
I feel like I’m spinning my wheels because content, videos etc. that I produce has no audience anyway.
It’s like that last piece of the puzzle that I can’t find but without that piece nothing happens.
I’ll do whatever I need to do to increase my traffic but I’m pulling my hair out with guessing at this point.
Thanks so much Eric. Keep up the great work big guy.
Matt

This a blog that I had set up for me by McKay Earl. It is a wonderful site. I couldn’t believe what all they did for me, but I hate to admit that I have neglected it!. I am a member of Renegade Professional, but took a leave of absence since I am a full time Realtor
Now I plan to get right back. This site is the one I will use to attract NWMarketing builders, as opposed to customers.
I have joined everything associated with RP,for instance Mike’s My First List to Alicia’s Lead Conversion Kit. I want to become an affiliate for these. I would like direction on setting up my Marketing Plan
I am so thrilled that you set up this Beginner’s program, it will be very beneficial in finding our way around Renegade Professional. Thank you Ethel Black

This program is a great idea, and to be a smart beginner is to know when to get the help and the feedback you need.
Even if you’ve been doing this for awhile there is always something new to learn…and as you said,if you really want to learn this, if you want to own it, be consistent…
I think that everybody is going to be looking forward to this one!

Hi Eric,
I’m in Network Marketing and have a Marketing Blog to attract leads.
Now that I am starting to get leads it seems that I have spent too much time on leads generation and not enough time on my Marketing Funnel.
Your offer to let bashful marketers email is pretty cool, but I wonder, if someone is too shy to post a comment on a blog, are they really using Attraction Marketing?
Attraction Marketing is about putting yourself out there and making yourself known and blog comments are a good place to start.

Hi Eric,
Kristoperson here from the Philippines and have been shopping the internet to find the easy way out….But I lack focus though I am all fired at the beginning. When I see the internet already full of experts, I get discouraged and I say to myself that I am already out of the running and can’t cope up with them. Now Ive decided to settle, not rush things and follow thru with the plan with patience and learning how to say “NO”.. It doesn’t matter if I am behind or not as long as I will start to work now and I know Im headed to the right direction…..After all Ive seen, after I have paid $395 to the other online company for training, I can say that RPRO is the real deal….I am looking for guidance and I hope I can be the first to grab your hand for help…I am still thinking of a business but my priority now is to establish my online presence and learn how to market online and the business that I will choose will just follow in my own opinion. Thanks and have a great day….Comment by Kristoperson — February 24, 2010 @ 8:15 am

Thank you for this opportunity, Eric! I have done a number of trainings in Renegade Professional but have been away from it for a while. I have been a member of Renegade Pro every since it was introduced to the public online though couldn’t quite decide what it was that I should get started with, which most importantly my sponsor was there to assist me. Thanks so much guys for coming up with Smart Beginner webinars and ALSO Renegade Pro because that was what I needed, and I think everyone involved in anything pertaining to business needs, which was getting leads to look at what you are offering on a day-to-day basis! I look forward to being on the webinar tomorrow and looking at 2010 being an awesome year for business!!

Eric, I am glad you are doing this because there is soooo much great stuff & info at renegade professional and I know I can be successful, but I am overwhelmed by the amount of information and the steps to go through to reach my goals of creating a full time income, part time on the internet. I am into network marketing and online marketing and want to generate leads that convert to a sales team as well as market different products on the web in areas that interest me. I then want to help others learn how to be successful in this economy. I think the smart beginner webinars will help.

First I wanted to say–YES, and Wow and Right ON! To Eric and everyone who is continually adding value to the community.
There is so much to come that is fundamentally at the base of all this–to facilitate YOU guys out there who are moving forward (and not just sell stuff to you that takes you one step forward at a time but doesn’t actually give you the framework to duplicate what Ann Sieg, Myself, Dillard and other ‘big-guns’ have gotten to do with larger budgets).
On a more relative note appropriate to this thread specifically–
I have always considered myself a Smart Beginner (as Eric has insight-fully coined the phrase)–and I likely will always consider myself a Smart Beginner, at least for as long as I’m still playing the game (meaning, learning how to give and receive more at the same time). I intend to always be learning.
Participation is key to learning!
Thanks to all who are plugged in ,growing and contributing!

Hello Eric, I will certainly follow your Smart Beginners although I became a RP last August. I took me some time to go through all the tutorials and to be overwhelmed like we all were I guess. I am Belgian, (Dutch mothertongue) I have a company and I am in MLM since a few years. I am creating my website (started beginning of this year), I am still working half time so it takes some time. Hi Eric,
Thanks for the great webinar last night. I joined Renegade Professional last year but I stopped viewing the video tutorials when I became a primary caregiver to my mother-in-law. Consequently, my learning process to become a successful net marketer was put on hold. I decided to return this year and I am overwhelmed as to where I should focus myself. I would love to be selected for a customized blueprint. Here’s my burning question. Is the customized plan available to purchase in case I’m not selected? I just signed up for Renegade University but haven’t even looked at anything yet. I woke up this morning, checked my email and saw one from RU so I clicked and it took me here. Looks really good. I’ll definitely sign up for the webinars and look around the site today. I’ve been messing around with the internet and would make the perfect poster child for buying and trying a lot of different things. I haven’t made my first dollar yet but have a lot of tax deductions LOL I’m 55 years old and lost my job. I’m starting over and need to learn a new ‘marketable skill. I can’t think of anything better than attraction marketing.

Really thank for your offering, your time and your heart! Yes I would like to receive the Personalized “Smart Beginner” Marketing Plan to grow my business online. I am a network marketer for quite a few years and only learned to build the biz offline. The progress is not so good as I expected. When I learned about attraction marketing (via the book Magnetic Sponsoring) 1.5 years ago, I am excited about the concept and started to do some online marketing using PPC but not successful. When I recongnized Renegade University and Professional half year ago, it gave me hope again to grow biz online. While I had read through quite a few tutorials (not yet write any articles), I understand that building a blog and/or my website is important to drive traffic (correct me if I am wrong). To me, it seems building a blog is simplier (i.t.o time and content) than building a website (I am not an computer expert) but since I am staying in China, I cannot access to http://www.squarespaces.com (this is taught in tutorial to build the blog) and hence I cannot build the blog through this path. Wordpress blog seems very complicated to me. Another situation is many social media e.g. Facebook, Youtube were also blocked in China. Hence I was limited in some way to build my list. Hence, I strongly believe that the personalized ‘Smart Beginner’ marketing plan will let me know what and how to move forward. I sure will attend every Thursday webinar. Looking forward to your help!

Hi, Eric: I’m looking forward to this training! Yes, I’m ready to be chosen to work with you! I have multiple ideas to somehow be “threaded” to each other:
1…A new network marketing business to include health, wellness and green-friendly-for-the-environment products to cover both retail sales and create a team of high-energy “business-builders”. This will be one of the foundations so I can eventually quit my day job to become a full-time business entrepreneur.
2…Real estate investments starting with pre-foreclosures (I will start training in March, so it’s long-term and will eventually become a future income-stream foundation.
3…To work as a nonprofit “Chaplain Kelley Care Center” (I received my credentials last October in 2009); to buy a 3-to-5-acre “mini-campus” with multiple dwellings/buildings within a serene environment to schedule safe meetings to help people in crisis, for recovery and restoration and using “therapy dogs” that will be raised within this environment to help minister to unhealthy people and also for search and rescue when needed.
Thank you for whatever help you can provide me so I can become a “Smart Beginner”…again!Comment by Kelley Crooks — February 24, 2010 @ 10:02 pm

I’m interested in the opportunity to be chosen for the SB Personalized Marketing plan. My hesitation in responding before now is if I’ll have the time to implement this, but I want to learn and succeed so very badly. Been with Pro for a year now and allowed myself to get overwhelmed, “stuck” on the niche thing, and never move forward. Attended our first LIVE event in Portland and want to take that energy and do something!
1. Yes, I have a business.
2. Classified both as service provider and network marketer, although current focus is on the network marketing side – signing more people into ‘my deal’.
3. My burning question is whether or not my niche is feasible or do I really have it focused enough? or maybe, what is it, if I’m not really there yet? I feel like once I figure that out, I can really soar with the training Pro provides, but really struggling with this “first step”.

Eric,
I am noting how Renegade Professional is taking steps now, that we are well established to make sure that we are “leaving no Renegade Behind” !These webinars are very timely for the surge of new students.
This training is a great encouragement for alumni who are not willing to give up because they know the answers are within Renegade Professional. It takes fitting the pieces together for each participant.
I like that you are pointing out the first steps, making sure the foundation of the marketing funnel will be established well.

oops, somehow hit the “submit” button too fast!
I was saying that Kaitlin’s online presence with http://bringbirthhome.com is a great example of what can happen by following the steps outlined in R. Pro for building your marketing funnel.
So, as alumni, I’ll be there. I want to be the best support I can be for my new students and learn as well.
Once again Renegade Professional stands above the crowd providing this kind of training and support.

I had never heard of Mark Hoverson until his presentation at the Renegade Professional live event. He has a very unique and engaging teaching style that draws you in and keeps your attention.
I can remember saying to myself as I sat there listening to him wow, this is a guy I want to get to know and learn from.
But what really set it over the top at least for me was when I heard him say “What good is off-page optimization (seo, social buzz, leveraging the news etc) if you don’t have direct response.
“I’m really looking forward to this course”

I remember my first thoughts after Mark’s presentation in January at the live event. I was impressed with the results when over half the room got up to sign up for his course, me being one too. But I felt he hadn’t delivered the content he had promised for his lecture.
It wasn’t until I realized that it’s the results that count and his techniques that made over 30 people get up right then and buy his course is what he was delivering.
I am going to learn those techniques!

During the course of the past 70 minutes, I’ve identified my niche–finally–and I feel as though I’m on fire to move forward!Several months ago I connected with a fabulous coach through Renegade/MarketingMerge/Coaching Cognition. Through her patient, consistent guidance in helping me to peel back the layers and really get in touch with myself, I began the “journey” to finding my niche.
This pre-training for the Smart Beginners weekly webinars, in combination with the superb
