Merging Renegade Professional With Coaching Cognition…

Mike Klingler PresentingHopefully you’ve had a chance to watch Tuesday’s webinar, where Ann Sieg, Barbara Silva and I discussed “The Coach’s Advantage” and showed the new Coaching Platform for the very first time.

We are excited to announce that we are integrating the Platform into your back office later this week, possibly as soon as tomorrow.

This gives you access to our database of trained coaches and is where you can search  topics to get one-on-one help with technical hurdles, business planning, marketing questions or anything you run into while growing your business.

Paying It Forward…

On Tuesday’s call Ann shared how coaching has had a life-changing impact on her success, as it has mine.
This is why we are so committed to bringing awareness to “the value of coaching.”  It’s why this has been integrated into Renegade Professional.
Interestingly,  the coach who impacted Ann most, Curt Johnson, is also  a leading facilitator on the coaching platform and is now available to you! It’s also very interesting that the coach who has had the greatest impact on me, Ellie Drake, is contributing to the training curriculum for our coaches.

Why are we putting so much effort and investment into Coaching Cognition?

Through the trained coaches within the Coaching Cognition platform we are integrating the value of coaching into the Renegade Professional mindset permanently–because we know how vital this mindset is to your success.

Whether you decide to use the platform to bring out your own coaching skills and become a coach–Or, you use it to hire a coach to work on your business with the trained one-on-one assistance, we are excited to see this project come to fruition, made possible through the hard work of many people, and the big, warm heart of our coach’s coach, Barbara Silva.

If you haven’t already, please watch the Webinar we did to hear more about the tremendous value of coaching, and to get a sneak peek at this platform today.  You’ll learn how you can become a coach if you so choose.

The chance to become a trained coach is soon coming to an end.  It will not come again until late into next year.

Note we’ll be giving you a link early next week so you can get your own ticket to the Live Event in Portland where you can meet Ann Sieg, myself, and EVERYONE on the team!

Hope to see you there!

  1. Coaching Cognition is going to change my life.

I want to thank Mike Klingler, Barbara Silva, Curt Johnson and Ellie Drake in advance for the benefits that I will experience from this work/from the new relationships with my peers and mentors.

  2. JV at it’s best. Here Mike Klingler found Barbara Silva…or rather, Barbara found Mike.

I remember the first fledgling forays into internet presence. Barbara was authentic, candid and compelling.

The rest is history. Mike did his part in relationship building. He and Barbara discovered her giftedness. Barbara with encouragement and coaching followed her passion.

Now she lives her dream. Coaching Cognition. Interesting name in that to me it implies a relationship that empowers the student/client to “see” their lives in a new way.

Renegade Professional is Barbara’s starting place. Very fitting that the partnership grows from the roots.

If you have any sense that your life and/or business will benefit from some new insight. Coaching Cognition is for you.

  5. Yes, Ren. Prof. teaches you the best and what you do need to succeed. Why spend membership fees on other programs that online give you a little bit. I like the whole enchilada, and Ren. Prof. delivers that in abundance.

Recently, a prospect contacted me through my blog submitting a set of very interesting questions. I got particularly interested in them because it wasn’t too long ago, about 3 years that I was asking these very same questions.

One of the questions that this prospect had was “What would you recommend for improving communication skills?” he also asked: “Do you know of any good online programs or courses?”

When I first came to America and got started with network marketing improving my communication skills was a huge objective for me, in fact it was the biggest objective I had.

I was doing cold calling, chasing prospects all over the place and I did not feel confident in the way I communicated what I wanted to communicate, thus my results were very poor.

I had a great understanding however of the importance of possessing these skills in business and in life and I was willing to do anything to help me improve my communication and connecting skills.

I was really glad that this prospect approached me with these particular questions, not only because I had them at one point myself, and not only because this is a good sign of his understanding of the importance of finding the answers to these questions, but also because I overcame my challenges and I had a solution to suggest to him.

You see, when I got started in network marketing I began to learn that education and investment in myself is very important to improving any skill, whether that was communication skills, listening skills (which is actually a part of good communication skills), or any other skill.

My mom always told me if I wanted to be able to write or express myself whether verbally or on paper I had to read more books.

So, I began reading a lot of books. In fact, just recently my dad made a comment about me reading books, after a brief chat I had with him over Skype. He asked me what am I doing, and I responded, “reading a book”. He said “Wow, once upon a time it was impossible to make you pick up a book, now you are reading them all the time” I said” I guess there is time for everything, especially when you understand the importance it could have on your life”.

And there is certainly time for reading books when you want to develop your leadership and communication skills. But it doesn’t stop there.

I also, started to listen to a lot of CDs of inspirational and motivational speakers – people who were proving right there on the CD to have the best communication skills in the world. I started observing and picking up from them quite a bit of new things. Words they were using, intonations that they were using, how they were projecting their voice.

But the time when I started to see fast changes was when I began working closely with Mike Klingler, who became my personal coach. What I noticed immediately was that my skills started to develop much faster when I had someone who cared giving me direct tips and advice to me as an individual. Mike would give me feedback after a call to a prospect or client I made, that was directly related to the things he observed about my communication skills. He would comment on an article I had posted on my blog directly related to my writing style and what he was seeing I have done, and those were the most valuable to my growth tips.

Then I met Barbara Silva and she helped me get to the next level, bringing a whole different perspective on the science of communication with others.

I went through Barbara’s Coaching Cognition course (that teaches people how to be a good coach) who thought me how to be a better listener, and when it is right to speak, how to give good feedback without hurting people’s feelings and how to express ideas while at the same time helping others feel important too.

Until then I was just vaguely realizing the importance of these things. But then Barbara shed some very bright light and made me realize that these are not only skills and embodiments of a good coach but anybody who wants to be able to influence people, whether as a business owner or just as a human being anywhere in life.

And so, after a brief evaluation of the progress I had made in the last 3 years from the time I had come to this country with broken English and no confidence and looking back into what I feel has really contributed to it I went ahead and answered my prospect’s questions.

I feel that anyone who is looking to improve their communication skills, which should be anyone who is looking to create success in business and in life, has to be seeking out one on one help from a coach, or to go through a course that teaches them how to be a coach.

This question could not have come in at a better time since people will be soon able to enroll at Coaching Cognition with Barbara Silva which – the training for coaches and the platform that allows people to hire a coach on any topic.

The training is six-month course and totally teaches you how to be a coach. And in the most fundamental level of being a good coach is learning communication skills.

For more information on this stay plugged in and keep an eye on your email box of when Coaching Cognition opens it’s doors. Or also, contact support@marketingmerge.com with subject Hire a Coach if you would like to learn more about this.

  5. Didi, I commend you on how far you have come with your communication, particularly in a language that is not your primary one.

“The training is six-month course and totally teaches you how to be a coach”

I’d like to talk about that sentence. The Coaching Cognition Program is an excellent introduction to being a coach. The first step is really understanding and then honing in on what constitutes good communication skills, and then practicing those skills over and over again. The course will teach this and thus sets someone on a wonderful path.

In the field of professional coaching, be it life coaching, business coaching or those who use a coaching modality in their clinical (psychotherapy) practices–the training is more in depth and intense than can be found in a six month course. I feel it’s important that people be aware of this.

There are many areas where the enhanced active listening and reflective skills that one learns in the initial stages of becoming a coach, are perfect for the situation and just what is needed. As a 20 year professional in the field, I am concerned about people coming out of a six month program and thinking that they “totally know how to be coach”. In my mind that sets up a false expectation in their own minds as well as those of their clients. Becoming a skilled coach takes time and practice under excellent supervision. Knowing how to recognize the nuances in a person’s situation and also how to respond to situations that fall outside of the basics, are gleaned from ongoing education and experience.

It’s also crucial to point out that every person has the ability to improve their communication skills, just like Didi. Yet not every person has the is cut out to be professional coach. By all means, the Coaching Cognition Program can help anyone who wants to grow in this area. At the same time, people need to search within themselves as the course progresses, to determine if these are skills they just want to incorporate into their current relationships and situations, or if indeed they are suited and interested in doing what is necessary to assume the designation of “coach”.

I totally agree with Didi about how crucial excellent communication skills are for business success. I believe that the Coaching Cognition Program will help anyone enhance these skills and thus enable them to proceed more easily in their business interactions.

This article hits a lot of important areas about communication. Yes, I agree with where you are today compared to three years ago. You are a leader because you teach others by your own experience. Your confidence level has expounded from the very first conference call you conducted three years ago. You are living proof of personal development and putting into practice what you have learned a long the way. I am looking forward to helping out and participating in coaching cognition. This course will be a good investment.

  16. Thanks Didi. I also realized the importance of having strong communication skills some time ago and it led me also to reading books, listening to audios, watching videos, etc..

During that time I came to realize that just by being exposed to these great communicators I was beginning to change slowly.

One of those mentors pointed out that we become a “composite” person of the five people we associate with the most over five years.

If you want to improve your communication skills, make more money, become more effective at what you do then you need to associate yourself with people who DO IT BETTER!

  17. Yes, Didi, I can appreciate where you are coming from. English is also a second language for me, having been born a French Canadian.
However, I did have the opportunity to learn English while growing up. But I still search for words at times.

That’s why I am really looking forward to Coaching Cognition to help fine tune my communication skills as well as introduce me to new skills that any online network marketer should possess for continued success.

  18. Thanks @Kisane, @Fanie, @FJOrtega! :)

Welcome to Renegade Professional, @Bryan. Rpro is jammed pack with all the info and lessons you will ever need to succeed online with any kind of business…But it’s sure great to know that there are a ton of people just waiting for you to ask for their help and they’ll jump right into it.

@Deborah Thank you for the extensive well written comment. I totally agree with you that developing skills is a process and that it’s not guaranteed that after a 6 month course even if this is Barbara’s excellent Coaching Cognition course, that you will be good and ready to go and be a coach. It entirely depends on the individual and whether they are cut for it or not. The good thing is that this can be easily recognized once you start going through the course, start learning and start asking yourself the right questions. “is this something I want to improve because I am attracted to helping people by starting my own professional coaching career? or Is this something I want to continue learning and excelling at because I know that it is going to be helpful in my life no matter where I go or what I decide to do?”

Thanks @Judith and yes having the right attitude is so important. If anyone thinks that they can move forward in a positive direction and see positive changes in their life by being always grumpy, pessimistic and negative than they really need to consider spending a good amount of time one on one with an experienced coach. They will have to change their attitude or the only direction they will be going in life is downhill.

    Thanks @Peter!

Hey @Phil, yeah you are right, I just tried it and it takes us back to this page, but that was the intention.
This entire page, which is much longer than this article and the comments to it, is dedicated to Coaching, Coaching Cognition and Barbara Silva and anything related to improving your skills and embodying coaching skills. So the goal was to lead back to this page…But it is confusing right now becuase you are seeing the same article you were seeing when you landed on the page.It will be different when we add a new article. For now you can feel free to scroll down and browse through everything else that Barbara has posted related to Coaching and ignoring the link.

  19. Thanks for the comment @Dotty. I think you are absolutely right. I never thought about the employment issues that people with poor communication skills must be facing, but it just makes sense.

@Becky, @Gertraud and @Rosemary thank you for the comments.

@Susan it’s coming real soon in the next few days. :) Our entire team is very excited about this amazing course. Barbara is such a talented person and such a great coach and we are excited to start hearing about all the success stories that will be coming out of the students of Coaching Cognition. I was a part of the first graduates but I will most definitely be going through the course once again. It was just that good and I am definitely not going to miss it.

@Igor You’ve come to the right place. If you are not enrolled at Renegade Professional yet, that would be your first step. You can just click on the banner that says Renegade Professional here on this blog at the right hand side navigation bar. Then email support@marketingmerge.com and they will be able to point you in the right direction and you can decide what would be your best next step – whether you want to hire a one on one coach, or go through the Coaching Cognition course or maybe something entirely different.

Thanks @Lanette for your kind words. It means a lot to me coming from someone I love and respect and someone who knows me from the beginning of my entrepreneurial career. :) You are absolutely right that Coaching Cognition will be a good investment.

Very well said: ) @IAmNoTSureWhoYouAre @Net-traffic-pro :) But yes indeed being surrounded by people who already excel or are better than you at what you want to excel is a big one. That could be your coach or it could be other entrepreneurs you decide to associate with on a daily basis. I have heard something similar to what you said from Ellie Drake who says that your income in the next 5 years is going to be the average of the income of your 5 closest friends…so choose your friends wisely…

Btw, I couldn’t find who you are even after going to your blog…A quick tip not that you’ve asked but it would be to add an About me page. :)

Btw, Ellie Drake will be speaking this Thursday on a special conference call just for you guys and gals, the renegade community, about Good Coaching Skills. :) Pretty awesome, huh? :) I just talked to her tonight and she was very stoke about it and committed for this special call on Thursday. Keep an eye on your email boxes for the details of the call.

  22. Didi,
I say “absolutely” in response to each of the acknowledgments and kudos in this comment section.

What I know and watched, when we worked together (a tiny bit:-) ) three years ago was a commitment to the process. Whatever Mike, your personal coach asked of you, you did it whether it was comfortable or not.

You are transparent, you own your success. What you accomplished in this short time is because you kept searching for better ways to market on the Internet when what you were doing was not working as well as you wanted it to.

You keep yourself completely open to the coaching process, absorbing all you can even yet from various sources.

I attended several of Ellie’s events, spent some one on one time with her three years ago. I look forward to hearing her again Thursday. She is a woman of profound intuitive ability.

  24. Hi Didi,I love that! The more you rrained communication skills, the more people listened to what you say and offer. So being in the other people´s world, getting what they really needed instead of staring at the figures – I could say having a clear intention and loving people while yourself being supported by great people made you so successful. Great that we have you now, too! Gertraud

  25. I am obviously doing something wrong when I talk to people. After the initial contact there are usually 2 or 3 contacts and then, despite my best efforts, I can not seem to get in contact again.
I have been told in the past that my approach comes across as blunt and aggressive, this is not intended, in fact it used to upset me that people thought I came across that way.
I freely admit that I am not a chatty person, I like to call a spade a spade, I have always had difficulty in social situations and I tend to say what I think rather than what the listener wants to hear.
I hope I can learn how to communicate better with others as I am certain that I could do a lot better with appropriate guidance

    Comment by Dennis — November 8, 2009 @ 4:25 pm

  26. Thanks Didi. I have always been interested in the power of communication, but also realize that we learn to communicate through the example of those we mix with – family, friends, work mates. Unless they are very skilled, and aiming to achieve what we want to achieve, we are unlikely to be very good.

By exposing ourselves to the effective language through books, courses, and forming relationships with effective communicators allows us to become familiar with new techniques. I am definitely panning to complete the coaching cognition course.

How well do you get paid?

At the end of your day are you satisfied with what you earned?

Did you feel you got paid what you were worth?

These are two coaching questions I get asked all the time:

  1. The first is how new coaches can get clients and the second is how to get paid and set fees.
  2. When developing the Coaching Cognition Program, the first question was answered – how do you get clients - We send them to you!

The second question on how to get paid was a little trickier.

Getting Paid Wasn’t My Strength When I Started My Home Business.

Well, maybe not the getting paid part…more like the expecting to be paid part.  I gave my time and services away.  A lot.

Now, I totally embrace the business model of giving value and over delivering.  There are times when it makes sense to give a product away or discount the price in the short term so that you build up credibility for the long term.  And I’ll always want to help people out when I can. But..

…you can’t run a business that way.  Even if you don’t need the money, your business does – just to stay up and running.  And I don’t know many folks these days that don’t need the money.

So now, here I was creating the Coaching Cognition Program designed to help other people get paid for their services!

That’s the thing with coaching.  It’s very common to find yourself working in the areas you yourself need and want to improve.

Structured Fees for Coaches

Mike Klingler and I spent an afternoon together planning out a structure for our coaches to use to set their fees.  This was about a year ago.

We deliberately set the entry level fees very low – in fact free.  Each coach, no matter what their background, would come into the system as a Trial Coach and offer three free sessions.

Then they would move up one level and be allowed to charge a whopping $25 per hour.

Why so low?

First, to make sure that ALL of our members could get one on one coaching if they wanted it.  Second, because even a new coach can feel comfortable in getting paid $25.

When I was starting out, I couldn’t find anyone to advise me on setting my fees.  Everyone I talked to either gave their coaching away for free, or they charged thousands of dollars each month.

Mike and I wanted to completely bypass that awkward period of time where a new coach almost randomly sets their fees.  They have no idea what to charge and when a client asks for their fee, they answer apologetically.  $50?  $100?  $250?

Even as they name the amount, in their heads they are thinking, “Are my services really worth that much?  Is this fee too high?  Too low?”

Our Coaching Cognition coaches don’t have to agonize over their fees.  They all start out low, and then move quickly up the Level system with the fee increases built in.  They move up by having delivered their coaching services to satisfied clients.  Their confidence grows along with their fee.

The “Level” Playing Field?

Here’s the fun part.

Today, I was at the doctor’s office.

In the middle of my exam, my doc asked me about my coaching.  Whoa!  Out of my comfort zone.  This wasn’t online – this was a live person right there in the room with me. I was caught completely off guard – no chance to rehearse, bolster my courage, or give my “elevator speech.”

I was asked what I get paid and I answered.

And then he hired me.

On the way home, I realized my own program, designed to solve the “get paid problem” for other coaches, had just worked for me.

I went through the Level system too.  I get paid what I do because I have delivered to happy clients.  And now I get to do it again. We start next Wednesday.

Oh…and I threw in a free session.  It’s not all about getting paid!

  1. Never before has there been such a great opportunity to be a part of this caliber of ‘organized knowledge’.

It will be a true privilege to be able to help others move forward in their business.

  2. “business model of giving value and over delivering” is a mantra I have had when it comes to Mike Klingler and Marketing Merge.

Barbara, This is genius in that it entirely takes the pressure off the coach. They demonstrate their efficacy at meeting the clients’ need, meet criterion and their pay titrates up.
The client knows exactly what the cost is, has the opportunity to trial several coaches until they meet their full match.

Sounds like a totally win/win situation for Marketing Merge, coaches and clients.

And congratulations on your offline marketing. Your Dr demonstrates a wonderful confidence in you, your talent for his/her needs.

  3. I absolutely love this concept. This program paves the way for people who felt they could never afford a coach.

Coaching Cognition is breaking the rules and providing not only great value with their caliber of coaching but the pricing structure means that more people can now benefit from something that they thought was only available to a select group.

    Comment by LeeAnn McVey — October 21, 2009 @ 6:36 pm

  4. I think the concept of the levels is a great solution that benefits everyone — the coach, the client and Coaching Cognition. And moving up the levels can happen so fast. I’m already at level 3 and am working on my coaching product so I can launch it when I reach level 4. Thanks so much for putting together this program!

    Comment by Cindy Schulson — October 22, 2009 @ 2:13 pm

  5. I am glad there is a program that gives the beginner or one who needs a boost from where they currently are at no cost to begin with.

Then as one invests in their business and gets more training, there is a great program like this that is not only organized to help build “us” but create an income also. I look forward to many people being to benefit from Coaching Cognition.

  6. I have always thought of being a coach. I am a good listener and I have a caring heart. It’s on my dream board to become a coach. I never knew how to begin or build the type of skills needed to become a lifestyle coach. Now I see it coming to life through coaching cognition. What a great idea for building up the confidence level that is needed to reach the next level. This is a win/win. Thanks, Barbara, for putting this all together for us to be a part of it.

  7. I have always wanted to help people improve their lives and I was never really sure how to do it.

Learning about coaching cognition a few months ago I realzied here it was an opportunity for me to learn and improve my own life in all areas. Through what I will learn at coaching cognition. Now I would be able to help people move forward in thir own lives.

I am so grateful to Barbara putting this together, and thank you for offering us this wonderful opportunity.

Working From Home – Coaching Cognition’s Dynamic Duo

Barbara Silva, author, educator, coach and home business entrepreneur, takes a break to sit down and have a cozy chat with her daughter, Kendall Silva.

Kendall is the newest addition to our Coaching Cognition team. She majored in psychology at Austin College in Sherman, Texas. Kendall realized early on that psychology was a perfect fit for her when in high school she determined that helping others was something that came naturally to her.

Watching her mother, Barbara, who enjoys working from home, go from learning how to do online marketing with the help of Mike Klingler and Renegade Professional and then branding herself as an educator, author and coach was awe-inspiring for Kendall. Kendall decided that she wanted to try her hand at marketing something that was near and dear to her heart as well.

Another Home Based Business Entrepreneur is Born

Kendall first dabbled with her own online marketing using her love of music as her niche and choosing young teenagers as her target market. Kendall, also writes, composes and sings her own songs and she decided that she would take advantage of MySpace to showcase her many talents.

Being a chip off the ole’ block, she began by visiting other people’s MySpace pages and leaving genuine and sincere comments. Kendall never mentioned her business nor did she do any self-promotion when leaving her comments.

Social Marketing Rule #1 – Never Self Promote

In a few short months, the people for whom she had left comments began to visit her MySpace page to see what she was up to and leave their comments for her, too. But more importantly they were listening to Kendall’s lyrics and enjoying her music! Mission accomplished. Kendall now has a community of people who look forward to her next project and we’re sure she won’t disappoint them!

A Home Business Opportunity – The Coaching Cognition Bug

It’s easy to see that Barbara and Kendall enjoy a very easy-going relationship with each other. They are very in tune with one another and often finish each other’s sentences. With Barbara’s home business opportunity, Coaching Cognition gaining momentum she knew she needed help. That is when she first hired Kendall to write an article for her coaching platform that was just in its infancy. Kendall quickly decided that she not only wanted to write the article but also become a part of her mom’s team.

With her counseling background and her love of helping others, Kendall felt that coaching would be a natural transition.

Kendall stated it best when she said that one of the advantages to working from home with her mother is, “I get to see her! Working with her doesn’t feel like work at all.” When pressed for any disadvantages to working with her mom, she coyly whispered, “I’ll tell you about that later!”

Making a Home Business a Family Business

Besides working with Coaching Cognition, Kendall also works a full time job in the retail industry. Shortly after deciding that coaching was a good path for her – Kendall’s company created a new position for her. They realized her natural talent and gift for taking her co-workers skills and enhancing them utilizing her coaching background. Hmmmmm…anyone else seeing the Law of Attraction working here?

Kendall and Barbara are having a wonderful time working from home together developing the training classes that will be used to train future coaches of Coaching Cognition. One of Kendall’s favorite things to do with her mom is to come up with the innovative and fresh ideas that bring about a mental image to help others grasp a concept they are planning on teaching to others.

Fun Fact about Kendall

At the tender age of 8, she invented the “Unburnable Flag” in response to the controversy in the news at the time about freedom of expression vs. desecrating our nation’s symbol. The flag is now housed in the George H. Bush’s Presidential Library and she received a letter from the President himself.
Welcome to the Coaching Cognition team, Kendall!

  1. Welcome to the team, Kendall! We are all very excited to have another family on the team. It aligns truly with Marketing Merge’s values and vision. I am so much looking forward to meeting you on the phone and in person in the nearest future. :) It is so nice that Barbara has her closest to her person (her daughter) sharing her passion and helping her execute it. :)

Barbara is the nicest and brightest person ever and the cherry seems to have fallen really close to the tree. :) I love the positive and bright energy that comes out of you both. The Coaching Cognition coaches and students are for an amazing treat. You are going to rock our world!

  2. How cool to discover just by the process of connecting with people in social media and validating them as a social young adult, Kendall developed a community of friends. She discovered the reality and power of social marketing at it’s finest.

Then connecting the dots between what her experience in social media and her passions/talent with councelling and coaching, along with the privilege of working from home with her Mom; Kendall’s new job is a dream come true. A dream many families would love to live out.

  3. This is really terrific. I can recall having a phone conversation with Barbara about how successful her daughter was with using social networking without even realizing it.

This is such a good example of Attraction Marketing at work.

Now Barbara has the added bonus of having this talented young person who just happens to be her daughter, join her in the Coaching Cognition business.

Congratulations to you both and to Coaching Cognition for having such a dynamic team on board.

Your interview with your mother was very inspiring.
You and your mother share a very unique bond. I hear the same passion in you that your mother has; thus, you will make the coaching team just that much stronger and more valuable.
Hope to see you inside coaching cognition!

  9. Kendall & Barbara are having a wonderful time working from home…

Families doing business together – the concept and practice is an old one, but doesn’t it make more and more sense in this new millennium of entrepreneurship (especially on the internet)? It sure does.

I know what a HUGE endeavor the Coaching Cognition program has been from day one, and how many talented people have been needed to make this happen.

What is remarkable to me is that Barbara didn’t have to look any further than the dinner table. I am learning, and you will notice for yourself when you watch the video by following the link at the top of the article, that Kendall Silva is a rare gem cut from the same fire as her mother.

It has always been a pleasure to work with Barbara – I’ve always called her my “pseudo mom” because of the closeness we’ve shared, and her ability to always be there for me when I needed a sound board or strategic coaching to get me over a hump. Sometimes it was just her wisdom. She is family. And I now look forward to building relationship with Kendall. I know what a talent she is.

  10. What a wonderful article about Mother and Daughter!! It’s fun when you can work together like that. And, Kendall has obviously learned from her Mom’s example over the years – from what she did on MySpace with her music. Congratulations to Kendall on joining the coaching team and your new job position also!

    Comment by Julieanne van Zyl — October 18, 2009 @ 2:07 pm

  11. This article is a great example for anyone that is thinking about a home based business becoming a family business.

It is fantastic to read about someone, like Kendall, who is educated and talented finding an entrepreneurial niche so early in life rather than just automatically buckling in for ‘job’. She’s worked her unique selling proposition into her work and even her unique approach into MySpace interactions.

There are so many horror stories and warnings – ‘don’t do business with family’ – that it’s refreshing to see very positive experiences.

My daughters have worked with me at times, and we’ve enjoyed it – I know I’ve enjoyed it!

However, I don’t think I’ve ever gotten the Highest Compliment – “It doesn’t feel like work at all”
That has to be the best thing in the world – what an inspiration!

  12. The working relationship which has developed between Barbara and Kendall is as powerful a statement about the effectiveness of developing a coaching skill set as you can make.

Barbara has developed these skills as well as anyone I know, and I suspect she has been doing so for a LONG time (not calling her old, or anything…haha). The results are evident in her daughter’s ability and desire to follow along a similar path.

Mike Klingler recently wrote an article about how coaching can improve your personal life as well as your business life, and I think this exemplifies perfectly what he was trying to say.

    Comment by Lane Romero-Reiss — October 18, 2009 @ 3:54 pm

  13. Sorry, but I beat Kendall out on the Company song. I already sang it for the gang in Portland. LOL Did I mention both Kendall and I have a theatre background? Big surprise. lol

  14. I would think that there is no more satisfying development in a person’s life than to work their children. For years, I worked along side my father and learned a lot about traditional business.

I envy Barbara’s position as I too have a wish to someday work closely with my daughter.

Keeping one’s options open to all possibilities may just make it happen.

  15. How wonderful is it to have your son or daughter work along side you in your work, your goals, and what you’re passionate about? It’s probably what every parent hopes for.
Barbara, you’ve done a super job raising her and it’s coming back to you, along with everything else you are putting your personal touch on. Kudos to Kendall for her choice of employer!

  16. A Mothers Dream

Having your child decide to work with/for you must be one of the highest compliments. Very cool! Then to work together toward a common goal, something you love, that is the ultimate goal for anyone looking to work at home. Wouldn’t it be great if all families could come together like this?

  19. Watching Barbara and Kendall is wonderful. It is so great when we can pass on the value and joy of working from home to our kids. What better way to be able to continue to mentor them and take part in their development?

and yes. what a supreme compliment to the mom or dad whose child steps up–to be their own person in conjunction with their parent.

  20. As many of you know, not only do I work online from home, I’m a single mom and I homeschool my daughter as well. It’s my dream that she’ll never need or want a JOB.

Of course I’d love for her to learn to do what I do so part of our “curriculum” is internet studies. My DD has her own blog where she posts her school work and she’s created several lenses over at Squidoo.

Seeing how Barbara and Kendall work so well together is inspiring to say the least and gives me great hope for my daughter and me.

  22. Working with my daughter in the future. Right now she just can’t see it – then again she is only 13. She thinks she cant work on computers or make websites – it will be exciting to watch her advance in technology. Many teens are smarter than adults in this area. If that does not happen it gives me warm fuzzys to know that Barbara and Kendall are working and thriving together.

  23. Hi Barbara and Kendall, this is an awsome example how communication skills make family life much more fun and work. Thank you so much for that wonderful interview/chat. Me having 3 adult daughters with a wonderful relationship also between them – what a giftfor me as mom!! And the wonderful thing is that age doesn´t count if you are really present with people in a space of acknowledgement. One of my daughters was coach 3 times in a program where people created and fulfilled projects. She, 18 years old, was coaching 40-50 year old participants that would not believe it at the beginning and then being blown away by her contribution. It really feels like being at home with you wathing you. Thanks again!!! And I loved whatever I got to see from Barbara – now two times Silva! What a treat! Gertraud

  24. @Didi: I was doing cold calling, chasing prospects all over the place and I did not feel confident in the way I communicated what I wanted to communicate, thus my results were very poor.

So true Didi. There are very many people who have actually made a fortune even using the old traditional method, the difference is communication! Even as we master attracting prospects, if we are to be successful, we need to master communication skills and be able to listen to our clients. I have seen this skill change my business tremendously.

  25. Hi Barbara & Kendall,
Thank you for such an inspiring and interesting video. It was awesome listening to you both and how everything evolved.

It actually reminded me that my niece is doing training to be a counsellor, and had made a comment that we could go into business together.

At the time I couldn’t see how. However my desire and intent is to be part of coaching conginition course and now I see another doorway opening and path working with my niece, and I have already seen other opportunities where I can help.

Thank you to you both I am truly grateful.

We’ve been discussing the significance of developing your Coaching skills (communication, how you relate to others, your leadership and influence) and how this impacts your income level more than anything else you do.

But What About Your Personal Life?

Can coaching skills really make a difference in your relationships with…

Your spouse or “significant other”?

Your kids?

Your parents?

Your Friends?

People you meet throughout your day?

I think Adrian Schleis summed this up well.

Click the link below to hear Adrian and his son describe how just ONE class with Barbara helped him to…

And how that’s impacted him.

Coaching Skills Take A Load Off…

Think how valuable it would be if you were better understood… and if you could understand others and have them feel more understood by you.  With ease.

How much weight could be lifted if your spouse or significant other got what you were doing in your business better.  Or, if you had more tools (communication skills) that got the kids to work with you, rather than against you–only adding to the overwhelm.

This is a BIG deal.

Dig deeper when you look for new tools to grow your business…

(after clicking, scroll down the page to see more than what was there last week).

Partners in success,
Mike Klingler

P.S. If you’re not with Renegade Professional.  Get in here.  Our community training covers ALL the bases, leaving no stone left unturned.

In our next email we’ll share more details about what exactly will be covered in this six month course series, when class starts and how you can join us.

  1. I am so excited about being able to participate in the Coaching Cognition program.

I had an experience this week in a discussion that created an internal response of curling up like a fiddlehead. I know it is from “baggage”.

I so look forward to breaking free from these kind of personal limitations that have no real power.

I am very grateful to Renegade Professional, Mike Klingler, Barbara Silva and team for making Coaching Cognition happen for us.

When I was in a networking business I did a TON of prospecting on the telephone.

I had to deal with a lot of prospects who were VERY challenging to work with.

I remember my early years–

Talk about frustration!

Many of them had no money.

Others had unrealistic expectations.

Some were just down right depressed.

Others hostile.

Some would talk and talk and talk
Some were distracted.

Some were really kind people but totally feared change.

Others only needed a nudge. For me to ask one good question that ended up leading them forward THANKING me for the dramatic impact it had on them it.  Wow.

I learned the hard way–and the long way–how to positively influence people; how to change the way they think about things by helping them discover the answers for themselves.

As you know, with Barbara Silva’s Coaching Cognition training soon opening up, you’ll be able to learn these skills head on, in a safe environment and quickly.

Instead of it taking years it can be learned in months.

These skills will assist you in nearly every interaction you have (in your business AND personal life).

They’ll assist you in understanding people in general (helping you in all forms of communication, including emails and copy), and how to lead people to action (key).

They’ll assist you in your confidence, competence and how your marketing comes across.

Obviously, they will assist you in succeeding by addressing the “essential list” we’ve talked about over these last two weeks.

A Safe Environment To Learn To Lead

Just one of the valuable aspects of Coaching Cognition is live role playing.

You’ll have lots of opportunities to participate in the LIVE role playing–

This alone can be life-changing… because it’s where you learn some of the ‘finer distinctions’ (AKA, developing a “keen insight”–the first item on the ‘essential list’).

It may sound scary at first; but in this environment it’s actually quite safe and fun–no one is ever put on the spot.

Role playing is an extremely important part of learning at a fast pace.  Because it gives a type of “accelerated experience.”

Here’s why it’s accelerated…

The Impact of a “Real Life” Role Playing Session

When role playing, one “coach in training” will pretend to be a challenging prospect or client.  The other ‘coach in training’ will pretend to be the Coach.

Interactive discussions among the students and Barbara help the Coaches pinpoint key moments in the conversation where it could move forward, or fall flat.

Ever had a conversation with a prospect or client fall flat or go south when you wanted it to go north?

Imagine holding a compass that you could use during any given conversation and always knowing where north is (moving toward their goals positively).

And whenever your prospect or client goes the wrong direction you’re able to ask a question to get them to realize ON THEIR OWN how to correct course so they can achieve what it is they want faster.

You’ll have “Influence” with such a skill.

Through role playing with Barbara and the other students, you’ll learn to recognize patterns in conversation and what to do to build bridges that lead it forward constructively.

The power comes by learning to recognize the patterns and ‘own’ the questions that definitively lead someone forward.

One of the role playing sessions I listened to was between Eric Walker and Claire Covington–they were in the first Coaching Cognition training course offered by Barbara.

Here, Eric Walker role plays as the client and pretends to have just signed up in a new opportunity and has very “Unrealistic Expectations.”

Claire Covington pretends to be the Coach.

They then discuss the pivotal moments in the conversation where it could go north or ’south’ and this is when you pick up the skills.

You’ll have access to the recordings of this very role playing session with Claire and Eric, along with many more from the first students who have now graduated from Coaching Cognition.

AND, of course… you’ll be able to have ‘accelerated experience’ of your own by partaking in the new LIVE sessions offered.

In the next two emails, I’m going to answer these two questions

1. “What Does Coaching Have To Do With YOUR Business.” (just in case that isn’t clear yet)
2. “How Coaching Impacts Your Personal Life”

I’ll soon share the details of what is completely covered in this highly in-depth six month course.

In case you missed it, watch what Claire has to say about her experience with the entire Coaching Cognition program.

We’ll be opening this to new students for a limited time in early October.

After that, you’ll have to wait until next year to become a coach with us again.

So if you have interest in moving forward fast this year with Coaching, please pay close attention to our emails.

I’ll share more details as I have them.

Partners in success,
Mike Klingler

  1. I am so priviledged to know that my name is on the list for Coaching Cognition. I listened to both Claire’s and Eric’s comments on their experience with the beta phase of this program. I know that their lives are forever changed.
Eric coached me for a season and I can vouch for his very targeted, yet intuitive ability to get to the core of the matter. Eric was able, because of the skills he acquired in Coaching Cognition to zero in on the central area of development need.
I look forward to participating, growing as a person and business owner.
Coaching Cognition warrants your close consideration.

  3. Not Getting Paid to Coach? You’re Probably Not that Valuable.

With Coaching Cognition, I learned how to be valuable. I fit myself into the Coaching Cognition platform, and now I’m getting clients sent to me who pay.

Now I can call myself a coach.

    Before…

I was one of the people who called themselves a coach.

We see it all the time, it’s in their profile descriptions at the Social Media locations. It’s sounds similar to this:

“Hi I’m First Last, an internet network marketing coach and consultant. Get coaching from me and I will teach you attraction marketing lead generation so you can leverage the power of the internet to build your online business the most effective way possible.”

With so many people saying that, unless you’re really IT, you won’t differentiate yourself and be an active coach.

Trust me – I went that route for months. Sure, there were months where I’d have a few coaching clients, but nothing predictable.

Then I decided to join Coaching Cognition because I wanted to be a REAL coach, who’d gone through REAL training with a “coach of coaches” who had received REAL coaching training.

That’s Barbara Silva. And that’s Coaching Cognition.

Upon going through the Coaching Cognition training, my confidence grew, and I realized NOW I’m a real PAID coach.

It’s already amazing, the Coaching Cognition platform has been sending me paying clients who already know who I am and want to receive coaching from me.

  4. Some great information here for those wishing to get into coaching. I think its important to be clear on what you want to achieve.

Do you really want to be a coach? That could be coaching others on how to be successful but your business may revolve entirely around coaching.

That works well for solo-preneurs who can coach and get paid an hourly rate and also package their knowledge into information products and thus create some passive income.

Coaching alone is still only trading time for dollars so its really important to be clear on what you want because the odds are you will attract it if you stick with it!

In Network Marketing I’ve found that you very quickly see how valuable you are as a coach. You either get paid as a professional or you run your business as a hobby.

This course will be a brilliant asset to those who really want to develop coaching skills or even perhaps those who need to discover whether they have what it takes or have the passion to be a generic type coach.

For example I love the Network Marketing model of coaching because its fast paced and very focussed. I don’t enjoy the coaching where I get paid by the hour because it reminds me too much of a job. I get asked to do consulting work and I actually turn it down but am very happy to consult with people on the right direction for them when they become a team member or affiliate with me.

Its funny but just goes to show that we are all unique and need to find our passion as Mike always says.

Keep the good stuff coming guys! You inspire us all to greater things.

  6. Over the past two years, I have found that I really have a passion for teaching and coaching. Of course, what I have been doing is mostly natural skills and what I have learned on my own. I am VERY anxious for the launch of Coaching Cognition so I can learn how to do my passion the right way.

    Comment by Patrick Howard — October 5, 2009 @ 3:31 pm

  7. I believe the coaching cognition is the best thing for me because of all the skills you learn.
People can recognize when somebody has true coaching skills and that’s what’s so great about this program.

It set’s you apart as a leader that can help others in making a dream really come true. Look at the people that have learned how to coach from this program. I know enough about most of the people that have gone through this program that I wouldn’t think for one moment they couldn’t get me where I want to be.

I have patiently waited for these sessions to start; we are just a few days away. As with everything else Renegade has had to offer thus far, this will truly be the frosting on the cake for me.

I thank you so very much for this chance!

    Comment by Patty Jones — October 29, 2009 @ 7:38 am

  18. Coaching is something you are either good at or not. Many try to coach without any idea how to share their unique skills. Some who gain knowledge and experience failure in their chosen area of interest turn to coaching as a way to redeem the time they put into learning. DO NOT follow a coach unless they have been successful in their area of expertise. I spent many years in direct sales of financial service products and met many manager/coaches who failed at selling and were no better at coaching new people. The best coach is one who has failed his/her way to the top of their field. These coaches know how to be successful. So the bottom line in selecting a coach is finding a successful individual who also has developed leadership/ coaching skills. NOT ALL SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE MAKE GOOD COACHES! SO Develop your leadership?coaching skills before attempting to coach others! Good coaches gain satisfaction from helping others, false coaches only care about the monetary return for time. Are you willing to enrich other for the satisfaction of seeing them succeed in life and business?

  20. I have been busy studying all these weeks, months. And I enjoyed everything, Ann, Mike, David (Garfinkel) – and now I am finally beginning to feel ready. Need to take some pictures of myself, We have created a company, new email addresses etc. I will start with the Marketing merge profile, and web (Living with a purpose). And then my own web. And I really would like to study coaching!! But I live in Brussels, Belgium, so I can not interact with the other students (time zone difference). Do you have a solution ?

    Comment by Arlette Stanley — November 4, 2009 @ 12:45 pm

  21. Hi Arlette,

I’m pretty sure they’ll be quite a few others from your time zone (or close to it) in Coaching Cognition.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Barbara will be able to facilitate you!

Email support@marketingmerge.com and ask that very question. She is an amazing person who seems to always find a way to help someone make it work.

  22. The idea that we should “find a mentor” or “find a coach” has been in the MLM tradition for quite a while. A number of the guru MLM books give that advice. Finally, we have Renegade Professional merging the best of internet marketing (check!), network marketing (check!), and now coaching (triple check!). The merge grows. So what is the role of a coach or mentor – I took a stab at that here: http://www.squidoo.com/FindaBizCoach

Even though our coaching doors haven’t officially opened, I know that many of you are already receiving inquiries about coaching.

The first thing to do is to either have your clients ask about purchasing credits by emailing support or you can send them the following email yourself.

This is the same one they will receive from our support desk:

You may purchase coaching credits from your back office.  Soon you will have an icon on your main menu that will take you to the coaching pages, but for now, there will be a couple of extra steps involved.

Log in to Renegade Professional.  When you are on the main menu page, replace the url in your browser at the very top of the page with:

https://www.marketingmerge.com/Coaching/BuyCredits.aspx

You can then buy credits in increments of 100.  1 credit = $1.  The credit card you have on file with us will be charged.  You may keep these credits in your account for as long as you are a professional – they will not expire.

You may choose to spend your credits with one coach, or choose from different coaches and different topics.

Once you have purchased your credits, send an email to support and we will contact you to get you matched with a coach.  Again, in short order, this will be something you will be able to take care of yourself from your back office, but the information is still being loaded into the system, so we are still making the appointments manually.

Coaches’ fees depend on their level in our system.

Some coaches charge as little as 25 credits an hour, some more.  Most coaches offer a fifteen minute free consultation for new clients so that you can be sure there is a good fit between you.

Let us know your time zone, best number to call and what time of day is good to reach you.  If you have already chosen the coach you would like to work with, let us know that as well.  We will get you all set up as quickly as possible.

Any questions can be sent to support@marketingmerge.com with Coaching in the subject line.

We look forward to serving you!

Have your client notify support when they have purchased their credits and that they would like to be coached by you.

Even though the programming is not yet complete, each client that you refer through Coaching Cognition will move you up in Levels.

Level 4 coaches can begin offering coaching packages which will be even more inviting to clients.

We’ll be featuring coaches as they move up in levels on our blogs, in the Renegade News, and on the Coaching Cognition page itself.

You might want to ask your clients if they would like to be interviewed about their experience with you!

Please share your coaching stories with LeeAnn McVey by sending an email to support@marketingmerge.com with Coaching News in the subject line.  She will be putting together the articles to highlight your Coaching Cognition experiences.

You can also contact LeeAnn for updates as to your current Level, fee structure, reviews, etc.  This information will all be available to you in your back office soon, but LeeAnn is the go to person in the meantime.

  1. This is a clear outline of how coaches and clients can begin the process of the coaching consultation process.

What a benefit to have the payment stream handled by the back office of Marketing Merge.

How much simpler can it get than that for both parties?

Basic Information About Coaching Cognition Certification
The coaching training is being designed to meet the International Coaching Federation’s (ICF) standards. We will continue to build out our course offerings in order to become accredited through ICF.
This will allow those who wish to be certified as a professional coach through ICF to be eligible after graduating from Coaching Cognition.  This will, of course, take a bit of time, but we are ready and able to meet these goals.
Becoming an ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC) involves going through a rigorous but stimulating course of study along with documentation of coaching completed and received, and a required number of hours of supervised coaching by a Mentor Coach (MCC).
In order to serve as a Core Coach and participate in the training of other coaches at Coaching Cognition it will be necessary to hold ICF certification.
For those who wish to begin their coaching practice and start monetizing right away, the requirements are that you hold the Coaching Cognition Certification.
This means you will have completed the 12 part series and the accompanying assignments to be offered beginning in late October. This will allow you to coach Renegade Professional clients.  Should you decide you wish to continue your own training and qualify for ICF certification, we will support you in doing that as well.
Quick FAQ Regarding the Submission of Video Tutorials

… Barbara’s ability to be with you, to be with the people she’s working with — it’s like pouring sunshine on somebody, one can’t help but bubble up; one can’t help but to really see that they are more than they thought they were, or knew they were…”

“The Coaching Cognition Platform Under the Umbrella of Renegade Professional is the Best Thing That’s Happened to My Coaching Business”

It’s been a treat sharpening our skills together under Barb Silva’s tutelage.”

Curt Johnson

Curt discusses,

Why he loves working with a group of kindred spirited talented coaches…
How, as a result of the way Coaching Cognition is set up, when working with a client that client can get help from other coaches or refer them onto another coach who has more expertise — it’s all win win because any client he works with he knows he can help.

“Discover the Systematic Approach of Coaching, and How Coaches Training will Personaly Help Your Business”

I almost immediately secured two new addtional clients who’ve never met me before with the information I learned from only two webinars.

Jerry Chen

Jerry discusses,

How he was able to go deeper into the relationship building process to find out exactly what his clients were looking for so he could deliver maximum value and maximum return on their investment (which is his coaching time).

…How the role playing webinars helped him get a better sense of how to build rapport and discover the needs of his clients…

…Why coaches training like this is worth tens of thousands of dollars for anyone who wants to get into a coaching role or receive coaching from the program because the Coaching Cognition coaches are the cream of the crop (due to the nature of the training that they’re receiving).

“The Coaching Cognition Platform Allows the Coach to Focus on Their Core Competencies which is to Solely Deliver Value to the Client in the Form Top Quality Coaching”

I only have to focus on delivering value to my coaching clients. I don’t have to worry about all the administrative pieces of a real coaching business.

Mike Wilson

Mike discusses,

The benefits of having the billing handled, not having to build his own coaching system or tools that go with building a systematic coaching business …

How everything that is needed to be a successful coach can be located on the Coaching Cognition platform, and all he has to focus on is the value of delivering top notch coaching.

How he has the freedom to focus on the customer without having to worry about all the extraneous details that are involved with a coaching business.

“Barbara Silva Has Shown Me What I Can Be (and Do) as a Coach and a Business Person”

Barbara has the ability see and help you see your self worth and your awareness of those. The Coaching Cognition program builds upon this foundation.

Lane Romero-Reiss

Lane discusses,

How with Coaching Cognition, you can know a lot about certain niches, but you don’t have to feel as if you know everything about everything…because everybody is helping everybody out – there is no competition.

It’s the very nature of the way Coaching Cognition is set up that you’re going to get your needs met and (as a coach) don’t have to feel as if one person has to meet all your needs. THIS “We, Inc.” model serves the customer/client in a big way.

Barbara – pure genius in the way she put Coaching Cognition together… she really wants to find a way to help everyone – both coaches and people getting the coaching.

“My Goal is to Help People Move onto the Internet to Build their Businesses Online — Coaching Cognition Has Been the Most Important Thing I Have Done”

I feel like this is the most important thing (Coaching Cognition) I’ve done other than partnering with Mike Klingler in the beginning.

Shelly Begarowicz

Shelly discusses,

When you learn how to coach people; to ask questions; to get to them to find the answers (and understandings) from within, it builds self confidence, and that makes you a better teacher, better leader. When you feel confident in yourself, it shows, everyone sees it, and that transforms your business – you just have that much more to offer.

“Coaching Cognition has Positively Affected Me and the Way I Do My Business”

Coaching starts with your relationships and the way you carry the knowledge you learn and how you apply that knowledge with your friends, family, business partners, clients and customers (everyone).

Becky Joubert

Becky discusses,

How she learned that coaching starts with your relationships and the way you carry the knowledge you learn and how you apply that knowledge with your friends, family, business partners, clients and customers (everyone).

…One of the huge bonuses of working with peer partners (peer coaches) where she participated in solving each others problems. Not only do she get to help other people work through their issues, help them solve their problems and smash the barriers that keep them from doing well in their business and relationships, she got her problems solved as well.

Becky is pleased with the direction Coaching Cognition has moved her as a successful marketer. She now sees coaching as the missing link that fills in everything that is needed to be a successful marketer and is able to offer that aspect to customers/clients.

“Save Time and Effort, Increase Pleasure by Eliminating the Traditional Pains of a Coaching Business – Focus on Coaching Value & Make Money”

I found a lot more value in working with another person one on one as opposed to buying product after product, ebook upon ebook and listening to personal development.

Eric Walker

Eric discusses,

The insights he’s gained with being a good listener, and how these listening skills have assisted with efficiency.

…How to address and diffuse anger and frustration while still being productive with a coaching session. It’s this skill that has also transferred itself into Eric’s personal relationships and made a positive impact.

…How learning by doing – working in peer coaching groups – has “doubled up” the learning so it’s not only absorbing learning, it’s also a reinforcement of the coaching lessons that Barbara presents from each coaching module.

…How not having to deal with all the administrative “stuff” of a coaching business is eliminated, and the only thing that he has focus on is being ready to coach.

“Feel Confident in the Quality of Coaching Sessions You Provide, Identify Needs with Ease, Find the Right Solutions to Help People Get Where they Want to Go Faster”

I have become a better person and a better leader today than I was before I met Barbara Silva.

Didi Alcheva

Didi discusses,

…the sandwiching technique that she learned from Barbara, and how it has made a positive impact on the way she interacts with her relationships, teammates, customers and prospects, and how she is deliberately remembering to use it.

…the W-A-I-T technique (Why Am I Talking) – how that has been of extreme value to Didi, and that now it’s becoming a habit (an excellent characteristic).

…how she is grateful to Coaching Cognition for simply sending her new clients.

“If You Understand the Value of Coaching Skills and How You Can Benefit to Be a Coach, You Must Look at Coaching Cognition”

Barbara is providing us with all the skills we need to become great coaches – whether we have 20 years of coaching experience or we have none. It’s amazing.

Cindy Schulson

Cindy discusses,

What coaching means for your business…

-helping somebody find the right path
-helping somebody find the answers and understandings inside of them
-helping them achieve their goals faster
-being a partner who walks beside them to reach goals and dreams.
-develop stronger relationships

Learning these coaching skills is something that you’re going to carry with you no matter what business you’re in.

How she is excited to merry internet marketing with network marketing and coaching, and how all these skills work together in a synergistic way. And now with Coaching Cognition platform, all these things come together.

“I Saw My Family Through Different Eyes”

I shared with my wife some of the different stories you (Barbara) had shared, and how people hear different things, and how important it is to communicate so people understand what it is you’re saying. And also, to hear what people are saying to you as well.

Adrian Schleis

Adrian discusses,
The importance that Barbara’s two webinars had on his perspective toward family. Adrian brings his son, Hunter, on screen and asks him how he likes it when his dad pays attention to him.

I am also happy to share with you that my daughter, Kendall, has come on board and is lending her considerable expertise in helping to create some of the materials you will be receiving as a part of the training. Kendall has an extensive coaching and counseling background. As she likes to say, she and I are “so related!” and it has been an absolute pleasure to share with her our vision.

  7. When I started about a year and half ago, I had no clue what marketing online was like. It has been a sobering but also exhilarating experience and continues to be so.

Now that I have found a home as a Renegade super guide and understand the importance of giving more value than I take, I want to share my experience with others and help them to cut out what’s not important and focus on what’s real for them.

The Coaching Cognition program will be where I learn those skills. I can hardly contain myself!

I do not know if it is true or not, yet I intuitively happened on to this one that perfectly describes my feeling when, you Barbara, offered the Coaching Cognition Certification Classes.

“All People occasionally stumble across the truth, but most pick themselves up and continue as if nothing had happened” Winston Churchill

I knew that I didn’t want to ‘stumble across the truth’ and act ‘as if nothing has happened’ ….

I would say to anyone else that feels that intuitive pull…. to get on board with Coaching Cognition… because I believe you have stumbled across your truth..

I have become keenly aware of the doors that open. I know they must have always been there, but I never saw them before. Things really started to happen when I plucked up the courage to walk through.

Now, I get to stand at the door, waving others inside.

Lee, “excellence in action” is what I see in our community as well. Rosemary, and Marie, Warren, Patty, Bolaji and Donnalynn – your very names are bringing up for me the image of excellence.

I look forward to learning from each one of you.

And here’s my quote to share…I found it on one of my favorite teacher sites: A teacher’s (coach) purpose is not to create students in his own image, but to develop students who can create their own image. -Anonymous This is what Mike Klingler does every day!

  11. Barb – I feel honored to have been a member of the first coaching class. It is a fantastic experience and you could probably market the course as a coaching and self-development class. The interaction we had with each other and with you really helped to make the training a real life experience. In my mind you are the “coach’s coach”.

  12. Coaching is so vital in an organization learning how to bring someone from where they are to where they want to be. Having this available to us as Renegade Professionals is just amazing, just like Barbara Silva.
If there is anyone that knows the “Esstentials” of business it is Barbara. We are so fortunate to have “Coaching Cognition” so close at hand.

Barbara it is so wonderful that you too get to share so much of what you do with your daughter and your daughter able to share so much with you. Family in motion for others to succeed.

  13. Stay tuned, Angela, for my interview with Kendall coming up in the next issue. If we can ever stop laughing together, we’ll get it done in time!

In all seriousness, she has brought a wealth of knowledge to the program and I am most grateful she has decided to put herself into the content development the way she has.

David, as I listen to the coaching calls we have already done, I am impressed all over again with the steady, calm and insightful style of your coaching. I’m the one who is honored!

  15. I am excited to join Coaching Cognition and expand my skills that are essential to marketing my business and helping others.

Barbara Silva is a clear leader and teacher to be the “Coaches Coach” as is clear in the 2 “pre” classes that are above if you haven’t watched them yet.

    I can’t wait until we start :)

  16. I’m grateful and proud to have been a member of the first coaching class.

I remember first hearing about the opportunity and being immediately excited by the vision … or what I knew of the vision at the time. What I knew then was more than enough to get me involved.

What I did not anticipate was how much I would learn from interacting with other people in the group. Every single person is an expert in their own right and brings experience and perspective. The learning opportunity is much bigger and broader than I realized at the beginning.

Coaching Cognition keeps growing, not just because more top quality people are getting involved every day, but also because Barbara continues to define the scope and communicate the vision.

I look forward to seeing, and interacting with, the new coaches coming on.

  29. Taking off all the Limits

“there comes a point where you must know how to effectively communicate or you limit yourself”

This is true not only in marketing, but in life relationships.

I love my girlfriends who speak piles of good and sometimes hard things into my life to make me a better person.

I know that participating in Coaching Cognition and being another person “leaning” on Barbara’s “post” is going to be a journey, sometimes hard work, but worth it all.

The importance of having a coach to help me in my business is crutical in moving forward and it is only a given to help others do the same. 33. I see some questions about the live calls — I am very mindful that we have members from all over the world. I will be offering different time slots to accommodate time zones.

For the calls themselves, I use Skype. Once in a while the call drops, or there is an echo, but it has been very reliable and it’s very easy to immediately call back in should someone get dropped off the call.

I’m also recommending a headset and microphone like logitech. There is a button which makes muting and unmuting very easy – this is important when there are several people interacting on a call. The headset also allows my hands to be free to take notes!

Thank you all for your continued feedback. We should be getting this show on the road within the next few days! :)

  36. You are offering (above) a free coach training webinar but once in, you ask for $49.99 which is a turn off to say the least. Feel free to delete this comment if you wish. I just wanted you to know that it is not a good idea to go about it in this manner. We have so much to read up with the genuine offers that we don’t need to be chasing after trojan horses. Not to say that the course isn’t good and profitable but why do must you resort to such juvenile manipulation to get one to sign up? I already bought “The Renegade Marketer” from Ann Sieg. From what I had time to read thus far, she sounds like a great person, genuine and very upfront. I don’t think that this would be her idea of smart marketing.

  37. Teri,

Not sure exactly what you’re referring to.

We have 700 people on a Live Webinar right now with Ellie Drake, who is giving some phenomenal tips about how to coach.

Yes, if someone would like to plug into our community there is a cost so we can operate the business and offer free resources like tonight!

  38. Hi Mike; The red “oval” in the box that invites us to put our name and Email address right beside Barbara’s video is where it said: “Click here to access FREE coaches training” is what gave me the wrong idea. I am sorry for the misunderstanding.

  39. Teri,

    I get it.

There was a bug on this page:
    http://renegadeuniversity.com/event/coachingskills/

After you submit the contact info on that page you are supposed to see the webinar FREE. For some weird reason, which no one can now explain to me, there was only an order form there to join Renegade Professional.

Bad mistake on our part… it worked initially. When we changed servers recently some think that caused this.

I am sending an email now to everyone on that list to make sure they can access that webinar.

Yah, that kind of a strategy would not work to generate sales. Ugh. Not good. It is now corrected.
    Thanks,
    Mike

  40. Having attended all the Webinars and having examined the full extent of the course, I have absolutely no doubt that Coaching Cognition will offer exceptional value. Relative to what a lot of other inferior products cost out there, the price is amazingly low. I am also pleased to see that there is a reasonable payment plan.

I am a paying member of Renegade Professional with a lot of prior teaching/training experience. I also realize I have a lot to share and give back with others, so am positive Coaching Cognition would be one of the best things for me to do to help facilitate this.

I have yet to become what I would consider a successful home business owner so using the skills I do have together with what I would learn as a Coaching Cognition coach would I am sure be an ideal way to make some additional income apart from the home business option.

With all of the above said, I can’t do it, even at the low price. As low as the price is, it’s still a relative figure and to me I just don’t have it. I would love to be able to find the money but I cannot run up any more debt as I have done enough of that on this journey.

I am sure there are many other people in the same situation as me so I was wondering in the future whether “Marketing Merge” would consider some alternative avenue for those of us who are totally cash strapped and not even able to afford the low price? I have three ideas –

I am thinking that perhaps you could offer one position on the course as a competition prize. The competition could be anything from making a video, writing a response or even coming up with a landing page ‘dummy’ which the entrant would have to use to explain why they should be chosen as the winner. I am sure this could also become a great marketing awareness tool for Coaching Cognition.

A second idea is that “Marketing Merge” could offer a ’scholarship’ type award of one position on a course. Those wanting to be considered would have to demonstrate in some way what they had done to give back to others for nothing and in so doing qualify to be considered for the ’scholarship’ position.

Thirdly maybe a “pay forward” option of being sponsored up front and then as a coach paying back the fee. In other words paying back more to Marketing Merge than the current structure in place for paying students.

Well thanks for reading this anyway. The course looks great. All my best wishes to those involved.

  41. Hi Ann, Mike and Barbara,

I loved the webinar Tuesday night and am truly looking forward to meeting everyone at the live event in January. I have coaching experience, a successful home-based business and I believe this Coaching Cognition training is going to elevate me to incredible heights. I am excited to become certified and have set a goal of becoming a Coach’s Coach – in writing.

Also, when can I expect information on the Orientation class tonight (Thursday)?

    Thanks for everything.

What People Are Saying...

I have been a whirl wind since I joined Coaching Cognition. I went to the live event and moved on to PBN. I am making friends in the community and understanding Internet marketing a little more each day.

Patrice and Mike did an excellent job of defining what PBN is and the 12 week plan in the Green Room. I am happy the training will be on Mondays as not to interfere with C.C.

I listened to Scott this evening on being focused on a couple areas in the Renegade rather than taking on everything all at ounce. It is making so much sense to me. I can hardly wait to begin Marketing with Scott. He is another EXCELLENT Coach.

Later in the evening I had my Peer Coaching call with Tom and before I knew it I was setting a goal for the week of getting my blog up. What excitement for me. I am moving on with Steve Anderson and his tutorial on Word press to accomplish this goal.

Thanks for making this adaptable for beginners on the Internet! I really feel connected, not overwhelmed and lost.
